I don't care how ugly it is, the itemization on this thing is BEAUTIFUL....I will be picking up ASAP.

This is why Blizz made the hide cloak option.

On a more serious note, this cloak is great for (arms) warriors. It has great itemization: raw strenght (instead of AP), crit rating and arp are very good stats for Ulduar level gear. Why strenght over ap? Strenght scales with talents and BoK. Before Ulduar there were too few cloaks with raw strenght, a blue cloak "Cloak of Bloodied Waters" is the only one that comes to mind.

The whole AP vs. Str debate is pretty narrow for Arms warriors, because, as mentioned, Arms warriors have the second smallest +Str multiplying talent of the plate DPS classes (Frost DKs having none at all). The key stat for Arms warriors these days is Armour Pen; it's worth almost twice as much DPS as any other stat, so "what's best for the Arms Warrior?" is usually most easily answered by "what has the most Armour Pen?".

The thing about Str cloaks vs. AP cloaks, is that AP cloaks tend to have both Agility and Crit on them, where Str cloaks only ever have Crit. So, with the AP cloaks, you're losing some raw AP, sure, but you're double-dipping on crit. Something key to remember as an Arms Warrior: NONE of your key DPS abilities scale directly with AP. Except for Execute, they're all off of Weapon Damage. Armour Pen makes your weapon strikes noticeably larger, and with Impale, +Crit makes them far more vicious. This is why Armour Pen is king, and Crit is still slightly better than Strength for us.

I was thinking that "Green is the new pink." could have been a reference to Ice Striker's Cloak which was the popular crafted cloak at the release of wotlk. Nearly identical graphic, different color.

"Green is the new pink." is a comment from Gilmore Girls, Season 3 ("Take the Deviled Eggs..."). The pregnant Sherry Tinsdale said that sentense to Rory and Lorelai during her baby party, because she'll get a girl.

ArP is NOT "worth almost twice as much DPS as any other stat", by any metric. At the absolute highest gearing levels (as of this writing), it is worth, on the absolute outside, maybe 25-30% more than Strength.

neither of you cite any sources for your statements, so as far as i'm concerned you're both fulla poop. even if one of you was right at the time (3.1) there's no guarantee that you'll still be right when anybody else reads it.

stop making "this is the way it is" statements. stop assuming that your opinions will always be correct. stop assuming that we all read EJ, or that we believe everything we read. you didn't mention EJ, but i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming that's where you got your information. and i'm not dissing the folks at EJ, but a lot of people seem to rely on them too heavily to support wacko statements. it's also worth pointing out that EJ is not accessible to everyone. we can all go to their website and read, but assuming that everyone will understand everything they read there is assuming way too much. and using EJ's hard labor to sound like *you* know what *you're* talking about is just pathetic.

if you like this cloak, go for it. if you have an opinion about how it's superior or inferior to another choice, feel free to share it... but if you say something that's based on someone else's math without even mentioning it, you should expect to be downrated into oblivion.
