Seems like you won't need spellpenetration gems/enchants now since this cloak will hard cap you.

There are still rare cases where you might not be spell pen capped in pvp. For example enhancement shamans with Seasoned Winds (it gives 195 resistance at lvl 85 to whichever school of magic they interrupt) and chances are they'll have a Glyphed Healing Stream Totem, giving them a total of 390 resistance (against only frost, fire and nature)! Chances are the enhancemant shaman would keep this level of resistance up a fair amount of the time considering the 6s cd on Wind Shear and 10s duration of the seasoned winds buff.

The only other case, which is appropriate to ignore, is Aura Mastery from holy paladins. They'll get 390 resistance if they use it on resistance aura, but for only 6 seconds and the ability is on a 2 minute cd. Plus chances are they'd prefer to use it for its ability to block interrupts on Concentration Aura in pvp.

In conclusion, the only case i can see you'd POSSIBLY want more spell pen, is if enhancemant shamans are literally the only class you have problems with and you want to do whatever you can to up the chances ever so slightly of killing them.

What's important to remember though, is that spell penetration increases your damage more than any other stat, point for point, for as long as your opponent has any points of resistance left.

Essentially, the enchant Enchant Cloak - Greater Spell Piercing is worth around 10% damage on average if the enchant pushes you to reduce your foes resistance to zero and every point is used.

Mark of the wild and blessing of kings both give 97 resistance to every single school of magic at lvl 85. It's important to remember that none of the resistance auras count towards the arcane school, so generally the most resistance an arcane mage would see someone with is 97. Or 195+97 = 292 resistance for enhancemant shamans with seasoned winds. The highest possible resistance you could come across in pvp is a holy paladin using aura mastery on resistance aura while an enhancemant shaman has seasoned winds up, this gives them 390+195 = 585 resistance which is about 50% dmg reduction on average.

Mage armor grants 45 resistance to all schools of magic and stacks with: auras, resistance totems, motw or bok (still dependant on their own ability of stacking which is reflected in the table above mostly).

Wish i knew how to make a better table in this thing.
