I think the main issue i have with SoD is that you go from 25-40 directly into Gnomer. There is no in between gearing. I'd like to see some gearing inbetween max level and "endgame raid".
Just do one WSG match and you'll identify something to improve...Also group finder tools. Do we really need to keep browsing LFG chat for groups? It flies by so fast you need an addon to handle it anyways.
We could go if you level 2 characters to max level you can play all characters at that level, but you still have to do the SOD rune quests. If 2 characters have gained reputation all characters get this. This would solve your problems and like the experience buff you always have the choice to disable.
I like that they maintain their humor. Hard at work he said. So far SOD content is one week work of one dev. Not sure we share what hard work means LOL
SoD really needs to be permanent, whether that means new servers after these are gone, or letting us transfer our existing SoD characters to a new server once it is over.
"we have a lot of ideas" ye thats nice, so implement them? geez they always only TALK TALK TALK and do jack shat...
I have several family members who play SOD and we're really enjoying it until recently. We all play casually and are good at our classes. One member recently tried to get into a pug Gnomer and was dropped 3 times in different pugs because he had no raid logs. I'm pretty sure they will stop playing. They are fully pre bis. I understand they should join a guild and raid that way, but life and work make consistency a problem.
If we had a do over for phase 2, I'd make Dismantle into a Rogue temporary buff so that they have something to give to party members like every other class (Rogues are good at finding weak points). Having it be a weapon enchantment means it replaces the +damage ones which nerfed melee even more in this phase where they're already weak in PVE.
I am checking every now and then. Would love to come back for P3 but my guild of IRL friends didn’t make the transition from 25 to 40 in any significant numbers.Having to show up at set times was cool with the IRL bros but not with some random guild of basically mercenary strangers that are there for loot rolls and that is it—which sums up the 2 other guilds I tried tanking in during P2.Have not played in about 4 weeks and the BR mode is not interesting me. I will probably come back whenever the bonus season starts for Dragonflight, but SoD is over for me I think. I don’t see my Bnet friends coming back to level all of 25 to 50.
It absolutely BLOWS MY MIND how we in 2024 have people complaining about leveling being too fast, on a seasonal game no less. GO F***ING PLAY ERA IF YOU WANT VANILLA WOW. This isn't vanilla WoW. One week into every single patch 100% xp buff should be implemented or you will have zero people playing alts at max level. We've all leveled a million times already and we know this game inside and out. Poll the majority of players and you'll see that I'm right. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LEVEL FAST, TURN OFF THE XP BUFF! Problem solved! The type of player to care about "leveling being too fast" is going to be a garbage player at max level anyway. If you want to waste your days away taking forever to level go right ahead, but FFS STOP DEMANDING THE REST OF US DO THE SAME. No one plays WoW for the leveling experience in 2024. Certainly no one who matters (in other words, people who actually stick to the game and don't quit 3 days into a fresh patch). As I said, let the initial 1-2 weeks of a fresh phase be no xp buffs, but then immediately add them after 2 weeks max. First half of P2 was plagued by a mixture of huge gold dumps (mount + epic helm) and no one leveling alts because it takes f'ing forever (on a scale of a seasonal game) to get to 40 without the xp buffs. Then add in that the majority of the player base is playing on PvP servers where grey parsing, 1500 hard stuck garbage players will camp the open world quest areas nonstop, and you have a recipe for EXTREMELY BORING, monotonous, slow XP grinds from Stockades at 25 to SM Cath at 40. Do not EVER lower the XP rate. Always raise it. The more the better. Get people trying out alts, leveling them, and raiding with them. They won't do this with no xp buff one month into a new patch. Mandatory grinds like STV items, WSG rep, and class runes more than make up for the time as well.
