I'm looking forward to trying these! Sounds like a fun experience.
hmm seems too generic... we will see...
Scenarios are a nice touch beside mythic+, yay for more content!
Wonder if they’ll expand on this in the future. Dynamic dungeons would be awesome. Different bosses and mobs. Objectives in different places etc. would make dungeons a lot less of a chore.
Looks nice, i wonder how hard the NPC enemies will be on mythic difficulty. I think islands will be fun with 2 other friends. Looking forward to it.
This looks pretty interesting and nice to give us the option to choose between AI or other players.
I am interested in playing around with these scenarios. The tactical AI especially interests me. Sometimes a simple push through a dungeon/scenario is mind grindingly boring. This should spice it up a bit. .....
Scenarios?.. I always liked them
More dynamic content like this is welcoming - rather than time-gate content, make varied and constantly interesting content to keep it feeling fresh and retain player numbers. This is something that Mythic+ I feel demonstrated in Legion. Keen to try it
I wonder if CC will have diminishing returns or shortened duration against the tactical AI? I assume they'll be a 1:1 replacement for opposing players...
gotta wait and see for this one, the zones looked copy pasta but i guess they have potential, gameplay comes first after all
Sounds interesting, both randomized content on the islands and fighting against intellectual opponents.Argus invasions were fun six times :) then you learn there are only six different ones, and beyond that only environmental effect and final boss are randomized, all mechanics and victory condition in each invasion are the same. Islands sound similar, but now everything is randomized - including all mobs and their abilities and even terrain layout (I think I heard something about "last time there was a cave and now whole cave network"). This might really add to replayability. And would be nice if they can really balance UI difficulty setting so that normal-heroic-mythic is not simple bonus to mob statistics, but their intellect. On normal they are regular quest mobs not much different from training dummies, on mythic they simulate player characters as good as AI can do... and on pvp they are real player characters. And you can beat mythic even in low gear, if you can outsmart the clever AI.Blizzard tried to do something like this before... I think, first example was the quest chain to upgade dungeon tier 0 to tier 0.5 that had "simulated pvp" battle in BRD Arena. I wonder, how many people still remember that :) But technologies advance, so who knows, how that idea will work today. Did any of you think, that there are new methods for AI development like "deep learning" these days, and Blizzard have huge amounts of data to feed to networks from PvP battles of real people on their servers. Such AI could be really capable, isn't it?As for balancing rewards between PvP and PvE, I do not think it is tight issue. I am PvP hater, and I would rather do two PvE islands than one PvP, even if PvP has double rewards. And on the other hand I believe there are PvP fans who would go for PvP even with equal rewards - to have some fun while grinding resources. Also, Blizzard could make PvE rewards for PvE and PvP island the same, but also add some PvP currency to PvP island reward. Honor, Arena Points or whatever PvP currency is in BoA. This way PvE players who do not need PvP currency will prefer PvE version, while for PvPers there will be additional incensitive to do PvP one. Something like normal = 10 azerite, heroic = 20 azerite, mythic = 30 azerite, pvp = 30 azerite + 1000 honor.
I know that last year Blizzard was talking to a programming company to use thier AI to improve in starcraft. It feels liek this new tactical AI will be using that same program.
honestly this look potencially boring in the long term
hopefully also cool rewards!
The ai is very interesting. Celestalon talked about some rogue that will go around sap, attack and vanish etc. Gonna be fun!
Scenarios 2.0, with difficulty settings and timed factors - I can only expect it's gonna take off similarly to the successful Mythic+ system.
Scenarios, invasion points, and random events all combined into one... sounds... AMAZING! Hoping there will be some cool, unique rewards as well!
These sound really cool! I'm excited to see where they go with this. This seems like a bit more relaxed version of Mythic+, and a callback to MoP scenarios.
Love the replayability factor
