There's no need to discuss which version of the game is superior-- they're both have their cons and pros. Just accept the fact that some people love Classic, some retail. Please don't derail discussion any further and discuss the original topic. Thanks everyone.
Clickbait/20I play retail and sometimes Classic but this trend of making loads of useless clickbait classic article need to die asap. We have useless tier list, daily google analytics of view. Why don't you just separate both site and make a visible banner to guide Classic player on the classic version while keeping retail news intact ? Or a retail only version of wowhead ? Just make a way to hide all of Classic news for those who don't want them.
Well...I'm having a blast (again, after 20y) with Classic. It's really nice to play a MMORPG again.
Am I reading this right? In Legion Blizzard said they had the highest number of subscriptions since WotLK, without giving concrete numbers of course, but we can deduce that it's roughly 11 million, since the max was ~12m in WotLK, and Cata had 10m, and it was all downhill from there. Then, let's assume BfA launch was a tremendous success, which I personally hiiiighly doubt but let's assume the best possible scenario. It couldn't be more or equal to Legion/WotLK, or Blizzard would toot their own horn as hard and fast as they could - the best they could report is a huge number of launch copies which included pre-orders.So, the best possible case is 10 million subscribers at BfA launch. Now, Classic gave a 223% boost, so more than tripled subscriber count is still less than 10 million. Let's again assume the best and put it at 9 million. That gives us less than 3 million subscribers for BFA before Classic came about. Am I missing something? P.S. Even if the Superdata company can't count all subscribers, it's still comparing them to its own data, just from a year ago, so its relativeness remains the same. From their info we just take the tripled subscription revenue which should be roughly true even if their counting method is flawed.
They essentially managed to make nowadays games so bad, that people enjoy more 15 years old tittle with no difficulty or balance whatsoever. It was all part of the plan 🙌
My anecdotal subscription data since the start of BfA:I was subscribed for the first two months of BfA, then unsubscribed until the start of 8.2. I was subscribed for just one month after 8.2.One week prior to Classic launch, I reactivated my WoW subscription for 12 months.I only wish my money was not supporting BfA. Of course, if the next expansion is good... then I have no issue. Blizzard is only hiding the failure of BfA with Classic subs, imo.
Looks like it went from 3th to 5th now, where is classic numbers are still getting bigger then?https://www.superdataresearch.com/worldwide-digital-games-market/
