An Arthas trilogy done right could potentially open the doors for other in universe movies like war of the ancients, the third war, etc etc
If its Arthas story please make otherwise I pass..
I'm alright with a sequel being made. If it does get made, it'll either be the end of the First War or a time skip into the Second War. I'm only saying this because the first movie did recreate Warcraft 1. Now if the Third War gets involved, it'll probably be a TV series since Warcraft 3 and its expansion, The Frozen Throne, has four original campaigns and four DLC campaigns, respectively. If this is a spoiler, then I apologize.
I'll be honest, the movie wasn't amazing, but it sure as hell was enjoyable. If there are more coming I guess I'll be dragging all my non wow friends to the cinema again! Well, assuming a certain pandemic has been dealt with a bit more thoroughly than atm. It's also worth noting that the director of the first film, Duncan Jones, has qrt'd a recent review of it, one that was sent @ metzen. This alone doesn't really mean much, but personally I'd have avoided that sort of interaction with the ip if there were incorrect rumours suddenly springing up.
If they do another Warcraft film I hope they'll change the effects of the orc voices. God awful. The way Garrosh, Varok, and Thrall sound in all the cinematics they're featured in sound just fine. They sounded like digital garbage in the theatrical film.
I did like the original, but at the same time that movie is very much for people who are already Warcraft fans, so I understand why it didn't do well.I liked it because I knew everyone, I knew the characters, I knew the lore, and so on... it was seeing Khadgar, Orgrim, and the others on the big screen, which was kickass for me... because I grew up with these guys. To everyone who didn't it was a generic fantasy movie with a lot of wonky dialogue and not enough exposition for some parts.I'd love to see a sequel, but I'll understand if it doesn't do well. Warcraft movies seem destined for cult fandom, but that suits me just fine~
I disliked the huge changes they made in order to dumb it down and simplify it just like how star wars movies(including the originals) are rly bad actual star wars lore but it was fun to watch.
The Warcraft Movie showed that they have the tools to make World of Warcraft look good into a movie settings and I loved the look of the orcs in the movie. For me the main disappointment was that it was only 2 hours when 3 would've made it easier to make it feel less rushed. But the major disappointment was all the small retcons that didn't really affect the non-Warcraft fans while confusing the Warcraft fans.Hopefully this time they stick to the actual story that occured in the game instead of changing things thad had little to no impact at all at the overall story.
scrap the RTS warcrafts and either skip to WC3 or go straight to TBC with illidan or WOTLK (including WC3 of how he becaome the lich king) because of how iconic they are, that is what will help the new ppl get hooked, that 1st movie failed to hook people in, people who dont even play LOVE the game cinimatic trailers, absolutely no one asked for a live action, they all wanted a movie version of the cinimatic trailers as full movies in that exact quality
i wish that rumors stay rumors.. movie was not even good
