Fortunate Finds coming to Diablo 4 April 9th - Personalized Shop Discounts up to 50% Off

Hello Wanderers -As you may recall from our most recent Campfire Chat, we mentioned our shop teams have been looking at identifying better opportunities for players to obtain some cosmetics from the shop with some of their earned or purchased Platinum.A few weeks ago, Class Armor packs began to appear in the shop which brought some popular options into a 2-pack combo for a lower Platinum offering.Starting tomorrow, April 9th, Fortunate Finds will begin to appear in the shop which will include personalized offers for players with individual discounts up to 50% off on select items.These items and corresponding discounts are catered specifically for each individual based on the classes they play, so they won’t be consistent from player to player.This being the first iteration, the shop teams will be continuing to refine the UI/UX of this feature as well as the offerings in the future.We appreciate the feedback from players regarding the shop offerings and will be continuing to make improvements and iterations as time progresses.

And I was naive enough to think the discount was 50% across the store... So I don't mind the idea of sets being 50% off from time to time based on the class I play. Although, thats an odd choice of their part and I aggree it doesn't help the ''real'' problems of the shop.

It is interessing to get sometime cosmetic to 50%, but its still quite random, which is not something that really help. I see 3 things about this idea:

-It is only really useful for people who seek to have mostly all cosmetics and are ready to spend on it. They will use these discounts to buy one at a time each cosmetics. But I see quite few people who want to do that.

-Since it is random, people will wait for the cosmetic they want to be discount. This is quite double-edged because it can cause less sales for them, considering people will not buy cosmetics to their full price anymore and just wait for this discount to hit the ones they want, even new ones. I don't say it is a bad thing, because it can be advantageous for the player or cause rage because the cosmetic they want take longs to get discount, but this is really an odd idea.

-I would question the idea of ''These items and corresponding discounts are catered specifically for each individual based on the classes they play, so they won’t be consistent from player to player''. If it work like the ''recommanded for you'' section of the shop, then it will not be a very good thing (like this section is sometime filled with cosmetics I'm not even interessed into). Also, just to the class you play the most? I can't say for others, but for me I'm done with the appearance of my most played class, unless a new one that ''really'' interess me come out, but then it will surelly not be in this discount when it come. I would prefer such discount for an another class cosmetic that I will eventually play in next seasons. Thats actually the problem I see with it.

It is interessing to know that until said so, it doesn't seen to be temporary, so will this be a permanent thing in it? We will see.

I think they should instead do what sometime Warframe does with their shop. At a certain moment, the game give you a special discount to the first cosmetic set you buy (make it 50%), but to avoid ''cumulating'' such discount, make it temporary (1 or 2 week). But this kind of discount will come back, so even if you didn't use it, you can wait for the next one. I don't know if its something people will like, because ''it will create more FOMO situation'', and I admit that with the ''current'' state of the shop, it might indeed create more FOMO situation (not having the cosmetic you want because they don't all appear in the shop).

They did say there are other changes planned. I won't get my hopes up that they solves the real problems of the shop, but I do hope they get better ideas.

You want more players buying more cosmetics? Stop class locking them. Let us choose how we want to dress up our characters. Want your druid to have your sorcerer's flowing garb?
