much of the advice in the FAQ is aimed at end-game characters so things like priorities don't apply or at least don't fit well into the activities you'll be involved with.
however, meta is very simple. the only ability it allows you to use that is noteworthy is immolation aura. this is your top priority when you pop meta. if you can get into melee rnage you should use this ability. it has a 30 second cooldown so it will only be used once during the time you're in meta (unless you glyph for it which i wouldn't suggest).
other than that one addition the spells you cast during meta are the same.
seed of corruption cannot be used while moving. it is an AoE spell with a cast time.
all warlock specs currently use seed of corruption for AoE.
corruption (the instant cast DoT) is the one that is only used by destruction while moving. if forced to move by fight mechanics you should use conflag if it's off cooldown > reapply curses if need > life tap if you need mana or a glyph proc > then cast corruption if you have nothing else to do and will be moving for more than a GCD.
hope that's covered your Qs.
edit: aha, you added a "3"
the rotation section does conclude with:
The above spell lists assume an ideal raid setup with buffs/debuffs applied by the best classes. In all warlock rotations you should swap the damage curse for
Curse of Elements
if there is no other class in the raid who can apply it.
(See "
Q: What Curse should I be using
" for more details.)
a link to further info about the curse system. i'm not entirely sure how moving the section up would improve things but i'll look into it. if there's no reason not to then i'll shift it around.

the seed of corruption tooltip says:
Imbeds a demon seed in the enemy target, causing 1518 Shadow damage over 18 sec.
When the target takes 1518 total damage or dies
, the seed will inflict 1633 to 1897 Shadow damage to all enemies within 15 yards of the target. Only one Corruption spell per Warlock can be active on any one target.
bolded the important part.
the DoT portion
does
1518 damage but that will never be the only source of damage. as soon as that target takes 1518 damage
from any source
the seed pops.
in practice (in any group or raid scenario) the seed will pop (practically) instantly on contact.
because of all that, you don't need any other spells for AoE in groups. just spam SoC.
when solo, AoE isn't usually the most efficient way but if you want to use SoC then you should be putting it on each target then using a shadowfury or shadowflame (you'll get that later) to pop all the seeds at once.

first thing to realise is that immolation aura is an aura that only effects things within melee range of you.
it lasts 15 seconds so you need to be in melee range before you pop it and you need to stay there until it ends.
the next important thing is that meta is such a nice buff (20% damage for 30seconds) that you don't want to waste ANY time while the buff is active. once you pop it you don't want to use a single GCD doing anything but the most optimal spells.
with this in mind you need to be thinking of things like life tapping to full mana before hitting meta so you don't have to waste GCDs for mana.
run in BEFORE hitting meta. wastes a GCD.
shadowcleave uses a GCD and doesn't do as much damage as your normal spells so don't use it.
etcetc.
if the boss you're fighting doesn't one shot clothies who stand in melee range you should just go to melee range at the start of the fight and stay there. only move out of melee range if you really have to.

@boatshim
run in casting instants (like life tap to get full mana) > hit meta > hit immo aura > use normal cast sequence until meta ends
the optimal spell priority is the regular one that demo deals with (that shufflez quoted above).
GCD means global cooldown.
when i say that we "don't want to waste GCDs on none damaging spells like life tap", i'm using "GCD" simply as the smallest measurement of time in the game. everything in WoW happens in 1 - 1.5 second slices (depending on your haste). life tap uses a single one of these slices.
it's not very much time and it's easy to think they don't matter but when you're doing 10,000 damage per second that GCD is 10k damage you're throwing away. (once you're well geared at 80, when meta is popped you will be doing considerably more than 10k dps!)
so, basically:
get into melee range THEN hit meta and immo aura THEN cast normal spells. simple ^_^
@shufflez
with less than a minute to go before the boss dies you've got decimation procced and you're throwing out soul fires. at this point CoA does not compete with soul fire for DPET (damage per execute time). once your CoD won't hit you can just drop curses completely.

Could you screenshot how your Buttontimers/NeedToKnow is set up or explain it extremely barney style? Right now I have no real way to tell when my dots needs to be recast so I end up clipping them. I normally just wait for corruption to fall off the mob and then recast it, but it doesn't seem like the most effective way. I downloaded the add-ons last night, but couldn't figure out how to configure them before our raid.
Extreme Barney style would be preferred because I'm well aware that I'm retarded.

um, ok then
so
this
is how i do my UI (at the moment).
it uses NeedToKnow and i put a stack in the middle of my screen so my eyes don't need to move far from the action to see what spells i'm casting next.
the castbar is placed on top of NtK and is done with quartz.
i was destro when i made the screenshot. you can see CoE and immo are both tracking the debuff on my target. beneath that, conflag and CB are tracking my cooldown.
you can put a list of spells separated by commas for the curse so that it will just track whichever curse i put up. (ie. "Curse of the Elements, Curse of Doom, Curse of Agony" etc.)
you'll see that immo has a lighter section toward the end of the bar. this is the 'visual cast time' (i think it's called that, i've logged out now so can't check exact names). you give it the name of the spell whose cast time you want it to track and it will, in the case of that immo, show you that it is safe to cast the spell when the bar is into the light section without clipping the DoT.
there are lots of addons that do the job and most are easier to set up than NtK (and buttontimers - they're very similar) but NtK allows you to put all the things you need to see (buffs, debuffs, cooldowns, internal cooldowns etc etc) in the same place and whatever size and colour you want.
hope that helps.
edit: also, the excellent hunter kripparian made
this video
on internal cooldowns in NtK but some of the advice applies so it's worth a look.

Looks like another two hours of facepalm ahead before raiding to see if I can figure this out ^_^
So for the Bar Type and Bar Settings what options would I choose? I also assume I need to change some of the other settings...I intend on mapping Immolation and Corruption since I'm playing Demonology, and Curse of Doom I guess since there's three. I got this for Affliction specifically, but if I can figure it out for Demo it shouldn't be hard to replicate when/if I run Affliction today/Sunday.

this discussion is moving into addon help and is a little beyond the scope of this thread however...
each block of bars is not limited to 3, that's just the default.
go to interface > addons > NeedToKnow
here you can select up to 4 blocks of up to 6 bars.
when you've decided how many blocks and how many bars in each you can close the interface panel.
from now on you can lock/unlock the bars by typing /ntk
with the bars unlocked here's what i do to set up the bars, step by step:
right click the bar and click "choose buff/debuff to time"
type "Corruption" and hit enter
bar type > debuff
debuff settings > unit to monitor > target
bar colour > i use red for corruption
(colouring the bars makes it easy to associate the colour with the spell meaning less active thought is required when choosing the next spell to cast)
for immolate repeat steps 1 - 4 using immolate instead of corruption obviously.
visual cast time > enable for this bar
visual cast time > choose cast time by spell > "immolate"
for conflag, chaos bolt, metamorphosis, anything with a cooldown you choose
bar type > spell cooldown
for life tap, meta (buff), fel armour, any buff on you choose
bar type > buff
bar settings > unit to monitor > player
for haunt you can monitor the debuff on the target or the cooldown. i usually watch the cooldown since you ideally want to be using it as soon as the CD is up.
hope that's covered it. if you still have questions it might be best to move this to it's own thread since it's getting a bit OT here. ^_^

Well the problem was I didn't do /needtoknow to take it out of edit mode and turn it on ^_^ Now I just feel retarded. Thanks for all your help though.

I play War Drums for Molten Core and Decimation procs ^_^ Life Tap should be added to the list if it's glyphed though.
Now I just have to hope I can set it up for Sunday if I run Affliction for LK ^_^
