Character: Asha
Noticing Zoft heading to the door, she feels it is time to interject.
"Zoft, if you walk out of this meeting you are turning your back on the whole world. The Scourge, Old Gods, Titans and whatever else threatens us are not a mere annoyance, they are serious threats. Do you want to see your people die because you couldn't be bothered to listen to what others had to say?"

Doomwhisper had moved to the back of the room and now just watches the debate, her golden eyes glowing slighty from where she stood in the shadows.
The Highlord wants us to fight with them, but I needed to find out if they have the resolve. Hard to tell at this point, guess Im stuck here for a bit longer, though this Night Elf has promise.

Character
: Mavik Dawnstone
General
: Human Priest, 30 years old.
Slowly pressing open the door to the room, a white haired man slips in. His face is remarkably young. His robes are well cared for and he is encased by an aura of light that is barely bright enough to be distinguishable against the vibrant decorations within the Violet Citadel.
Glancing around the room, he takes in his surroundings by making note of each being in the room. He never stops his glance long enough for eye contact except for when he meets the eyes of Krasus. The man lowers his head in recognition to the Reagent.
"My sincerest appologies, Master Krasus. Word does not reach the Cathedral of Light as fast as it used to." The robed man then makes his way toward the head of the table by Krasus. He turns to the table and clears his throat.
"Citizens of Azeroth. Children of the Light. I am Mavik Dawnstone, representative of the Cathedral of Light. Please, pardon my tardiness. However, it was at the request of Archbishop Benedictus that I come here and join you all in your discussion. Now, I assume, I have much to catch up on. So, what is the matter we are discussing and how can the Cathedral and I help to shed a bit of 'Light' on the subject?" Mavik cracks a light smile as he slowly scans the room.

Nakresh looked at the priest that just sat down at the table.
"Greetings, human. We are currently debating how best to dispatch of the Lich King, but there is no plan that will worked if the Alliance and the Horde are not united in the attack. First we must know, are you willing to put aside the Old Hatreds and worked alongside the Horde, or are you as stubborn as your King?

Mavik turns his gaze to the Orc Warrior and smiles politely.
"Master Orc, I am a Priest of the Light and each of us are Manifestations of it. Now, I cannot speak for my King, as those are words that should only fall from his lips, but I can say that, were I chosen to live the life that he had prior to his reclamation of the Throne, I dare say that I might not be as nice to your people either. I can only pray that some day my King will see things in the same light that I do.
Still, I digress. As a Priest of the Light, i believe that we all have our place in this world. That we all must learn to live in peace in order to make a better world for those that would come after us. So, to answer your question, am I willing to put aside old hatreds and work with the Horde? My answer would have to be No. For I have no hatred for any being in this room to put aside."
Mavik then moves his gaze to the rest of the room.Taking a deep breath, the light around him seems to brighten.
"As for the rest fo our people being able to work together to achieve a common task? I ask you, Warrior. Look around and see your answer. The cities of Dalaran and Shattrath are both filled with all of our kind. We walk their streets and shop at stores owned and operated by those who some might consider enemies.
The Argent Tournament consists of both Horde and Alliance, alike. Each one of us have stroled through the Tournament grounds, side by side with our rivals. All for the same reason.
To learn to work as a single force against Prince Arthas."
Mavik rises from his chair and raises his head, still smiling.
"We are learning to work together. Only then will the New Alliance consisting of all races be able to formulate a plan to rid our world of the evil that Arthas and Gul'dan have wrought upon us.
In short, we all need to learn how to walk before we can run."
The Priest nods slightly toward the room and then retakes his seat.

"Saddly," Mavik glances toward the Draenei Shaman. "I fear that there are far too few of us on both sides that wish to end this senceless war between our two factions. Although I pray every night that the Light, Elune, Earthmother... whatever Deity you believe in, give all of us the insight to see that this war will do nothing but force Azeroth to suffer the same fate that befell Draenor."
Mavik lowers his head for a moment and sighs. The smile has since disappeared from his face.
"However, we must take what we can get. If we can only call truce for just long enough to thwart the threats that we face now, then so be it. It's better than being at each others throats whilst Prince Arthas tries to cut them.
As for your remarks, Priest. First thing. You call yourself Forsaken. Yet all I see before me is the best part of a man that once lived as I do. I do not see that as being Forsaken. I see that as being Blessed. You say that the Light has abandoned you. That it is not the only unifying force. However, I ask you. How would a Shadow exist with out Light to create it? You have not been abandoned by the Light, my..." Mavik pauses for a moment. "reanimated friend. The Light has just chosen to shine on you in a different, darker manner.
Even so, no one here has asked you to follow the light. It is my guiding force. I do not wish to press that on anyone else. However, I implore you not to close your mind to the beliefs of other faiths. Such thoughts can narrow your vision and make you as hateful, if not more so, than King Wrynn. If you want this senseless war between the Alliance and Horde to stop, you must first end the war going on in your heart. and be at peace with the things that make you angry."

Turning his gaze to Mortec, Mavik's stands from his seat as his face takes on a look of shock and misunderstanding.
"My apologies if I offended you, Friend. However, it seems that you might have more built up aggression toward others than you would let on. I do not offer you spiritual guidance because I know that my words would befall on deaf ears. So, it is you who has misunderstood. And for that, I apologize.
"However, this is exactly the problem that we all must overcome!" Mavik's voice raises a bit. "This summit was called by the Kirin Tor to discuss a plan for the dispatching of our many threats abroad, but most importantly, Prince Arthas. And, here," he motions toward Mortec with his right hand "we have one of this chamber's very members who has already displayed emotional aggression against one of us.
"You don't believe in the Light as I do? Fine." Mavik lowers his tone as his body envelops in a dark shadowy aura. "But do not sit there and expect me to listen to your bashes at my beliefs. That is NOT why we are here. I am not saying that the Light is the answer to our issues."
Mavik sits back in his seat as his Shadowform disapates.
"But I will say that, if your attitude against others that don't think the same way as you spreads, then we should all just march up to the Gates of the Citadel in Icecrown and give ourselves to the Lich King. Atleast that will save some time on all our parts and allow us to aviod a fate much worse than anything even you might have experienced.
"Now, if we could please get on with the planning..."

"Indeed," Nakresh spoke up, "Brother Mortec, you may believe as you like, but we must allow Mavik the same right. I also do not follow this 'Light,' but I have seen it's power, and many of its followers are good people. The Blood Elves, for instance. Many Blood Knights and Priests that once stole power from the Naaru now embrace their teachings. And take good Zabra Hexx," he continued, motioning to a troll sitting at the table, "the Light, although it appears to have, for one reason or another left you behind, must be respected, just as the beliefs and power of others is respected."
Nakresh stood and addressed the room.
"But left this argument be settled. We cannot let our differences come between us, dividing us and setting us at eachothers throats. Every race that now fights the Lich King has somehow suffered in the past, even at another race's hands, but instead of holding grudges, let us unite to prevent the further suffering of our people. The conflicts between our brothers, be it in the forest of Ashenvale, or upon the hills of Arathi, will be dealt with in due time, but peace will never come of war as long as the Alliance and the Horde both exist. We must find peace ourselves through understanding and forgiveness."
"Good humans," Nakresh began, turning toward the many humans sitting at the table, "may I be the first to apologize for the actions of my people so many years ago.
We were wrong.
It burdens my heart, possessing the knowledge that but a generation ago, my people drank the blood of demons so that they might take this world for their own. We work now to survive in this world, but the memory of our actions shall stay with us forever."
"And noble Draenei," He continued, looknig toward the Death Knight and Broken that sat nearby, "it is perhaps you that we have wronged the most. I did not slay your people personally, but my brothers did, and I carry their honor. We were deceived, mainpulated by evil forces, but those we slew we did of our own choice, and I dearly hope that one day you may forgive us the shame we brought upon our heads in those dark days."
"The Old Horde is dead. But we of the New Horde must carry the responsibility of our actions and those of our fathers, and though we first work toward survival, I choose also to work to repay those that we have wronged, and I hope that my brothers will choose to serve this cause as well. Perhaps, one day, the Alliance and the Horde can finally be at peace, no longer harbouring the hatred and bitterness toward eachother that plagues us today, but instead working together to create a better world, free from the tyranny of the Burning Legion."
Nakresh sat once more, feeling no embaressment for his words. He was not a delusional idealist, but he would give his life if it meant that it would make the world a better place for his children.
((Perhaps that was my paladin-y side showing, but just think of it as a passionate Orc who is sincerely sorry for his people's actions in the past, and wants to make things right again. :P))

Mavik wrestles in his chair a bit, clearly trying to decide if he is to respond to the Undead or not. Then, finally he clears his throat.
"First thing, This is the last I will speak on this subject. For if we are to sit here and ride on this emotional train, then I'm getting off here and heading back to the Cathedral where I can actually get something done.
"Secondly, you say you bear no ill intent toward the light but dislike most of it's more 'fanatical' followers. Then understand that if 90% of the apples on the tree are rotten, it's best to cut down the tree. However, I am one of those apples and I can tell you that, from what I can see, 90% of my fellow apples are as ripe and delicious as they can be.
"Finally, I would request that you not sit there and try to earn the pity of others by talking about how hard it is to be undead. Everyone here has experienced hard times. The Draenei were chased off of their planet. The Night Elves gave up their emortality to save the World Tree. Blood Elves witnessed the destruction of thier homes and their greatest source of Power. We Humans have been chased out of our home of Lordaeron only to have it fall into the hands of your people! Do not tell us about hardships, Master Priest. We've all been there. The only difference is that we turned our hardships into Life lessons and grew stronger. Yours has become your crutch as you have fallen victim to your past."
"So, about that Lich King, fellow..." Mavik's face seems to have a hint of annoyance to it.

Nakresh turned to the Forsaken.
"Unfortunately, prejudice is a factor that we must all be aware of. It is prejudice that keeps us divided. If we cannot learn to forgive and be understanding, then we truly have no hope at all for peace in this world. I understand that as long as only a few understand the situation, we will nokt make a large change right away, but if we can lead by example, perhaps we may yet bring peace to our people. I would gladly kill to keep my people safe, but I do not desire death for the peoples of the Alliance either. Cities such as Theramore are champions of the idea that we may work together. What are the main problems that the Alliance has with th Horde, for starters, perhaps we can come to an understanding."
