I'm currently leveling up a hunter (level 52, Beast Mastery spec), and I just got Steady Shot. I am a complete newb to the hunter class, and as such, have no idea how to use it. Currently, I just use SS, AS, and Steady when I use CS on the mob. I have a feeling this is wrong, though. Can anybody tell me when I want to use Steady?

Since your BM all you need to do is spam steady shot. You can throw arcane shot in if you want to. Steady no longer clips auto shot so just use it every chance you can.

I'll just add that it's not worth using Concussive Shot. It does boost steady shot damage a tiny bit, but it's just not worth the time and mana, especially while levelling

I have a Ferocity pet, a raptor. He does exceptionally well at tanking, almost 4000 health and 5000 armor, and hits fast, and a lot. He works for me :3
Anyways, I'm level 55 now, and my rotation goes like this now-
HM, send pet, AS, and steady shot until death. That's for normal mobs. For mobs with increased health, like elites or named mobs, I throw in a SS at the beginning, then AS. Thanks for all the input :) My 'deeps' been risin' steadily.
