I can't say I use that many macros as a shaman. I have a macro for putting my weapon imbues on, and I've got some cast sequence macros for totems (that will mercifully be being gotten rid of once 3.2 and the new totem UI comes out), but otherwise, I don't use them much for my attacks.
What you've described sounds like exactly how I was playing my shaman at that level (there were a couple levels where Frost Shock did more damage than ES, so I used that until the next rank of ES, but otherwise, same deal). Once you get into the 40s, you'll start getting to the abilities that are the bread and butter of the spec. Coming from a mage, where I spammed Frost Bolt 95% of the time and most of my talents didn't seem to change that much, it surprised me how much my playstyle changed as I got more abilities.
I don't know if macros are gonna spice up your experience, but my recommendation is to wait until you've gotten Duel-Wield, Storm Strike, Lava Lash, and Maelstrom Weapon, and then you'll really start to see how an enh shaman plays.
I'm not an expert on warlocks, but I suspect that they work with macros because they have a fairly set cast sequence, whereas that's not really how enh shamans work. Although really, most fights as you level aren't gonna last long enough that you'll really need to worry about attack priorities, so you could probably get away with a SS, ES, LL castsequence macro as long as you remember to use MW whenever it's at 5 stacks.

If you have Stormstrike and some Trinkets with a use-function, you should make a macro like this:
#showtooltip Stormstrike
/use 13
/use 14
/cast Stormstrike
/startattack
What this does is simple:
Use your upper trinket.
User your lower trinket.
Cast Stormstrike.
Attack.
Basically, it makes optimal use of your trinkets, and always makes you enter attack mode.
I especially enjoy the /startattack part because even if Stormstrike is on a cooldown, I can press this button and start attacking a mob right away. It will even look for something to attack in range.
The obvious downside is that this macro doesn't enable you to actually time your trinkets very well. So when you need burst, your trinkets may already be on a cooldown.
Not raid worthy. Not PVP worthy. But certainly useful while leveling up.
