Personally, I find that a
crab,
spider, or
cat are the best pets for PvP (I'm a Night Elf, MM spec).
Now many people will say that a cat has no business being on my "PvP roster" if you will, but when in AV or AB, I have found that there is no substitute for having a pet that can dash, charge, stealth, and has lick your wounds and heart of the phoenix. Leaving my cat stealthed at a node (on aggressive) while I shadowmeld somewhere 35 yards away presents quite the unwelcome surprise for any lurking rogues trying to get the element of surprise.
I put thunderstomp on the crab's talent list because it has the ability to bring a rogue out of stealth. Randomly thunderstomping while guarding a flag seems to put rogues on the defensive. They don't want to be brought out of stealth.
The spider seems pretty obvious, RoR, Bullheaded, and specced to have dash up 100% of the time. Great for runners =)
I grabbed cobra reflexes to make life tough on casters.
I plan to dual-spec BM and see how it works in battlegrounds with the new buffs coming out...in which case I will use a
silithid in EotS and WsG, and a
cat in AV and AB.
I got call of the wild and rabid on the cat to increase burst damage on flag runners and whatnot...to be honest, I really, really want to try out rabid as BM spec and see how much extra damage it does. On the silithid I got RoS, RoR, and Bullheaded, all for reasons that seem pretty obvious.
Which will then leave me with a bear, wolf, cat, spider, and silithid. I'll have to pick one to get rid of if I raid as BM for a Devilsaur =( and don't say the cat, it was my first ever pet, I've had it since I started playing the game in '06.
Anyway, yeah, that's my take on PvP pets. Hope it helps!
