Hey,
I haven't played WoW now for about 3 months and i wanted to start playing again recently. But my internet is down. I am connected to my wireless network with full bars and when i try to open a page it says cannot connect. I even ran an ethernet cable to my router to see if it was the adapter. It wasn't so it must be the computer. I went through a full system scan it found the trojan downloader deleted it no problem. i probably got it from the last patch when i had to drop my firewall to let it through because the same thing hapened to my friend. Went through another full scan to see if it was still there and it was not. But my internet seemed to cut out after i tried to delete Elder Scrolls: Oblivion from my computer because it said it was why my internet is so slow or didn't work. It didn't delete or anything. Its still there and i can't uninstall it. My neighbor is a computer somewhat of a computer guru and he couldn't get it to work. So i come to you, the WoW gamers and wowhead posters, to see if anyone has an answer to my problem. Any help is aprreciated.

There's several things that may be causing this. You did good trying to use wireless -and- running a cable, but let's check a few other things
1) Are there any other computers on the network? If so, are they connected with no issues?
2)If focusing on your wireless, did you set up your WEP/WAP key correctly on your computer?
3) are you trying to run through any sort of wierd proxy?
4) did you turn off your modem and router, then turn on the modem first, then bring the router up?
5)What are your properties for connection?
-Go to your control panel.
-Choose network connections.
-Under wireless, you should be able to take a look at its properties. Is it setup to have YOUR local wireless as the primary connection, with your wired network being secondary? sometimes switching these around or making sure it's only trying to connect to your local networks can solve soem of these problems.
6) If your wireless adapter is a USB, uninstall the software with the USB in the back, then reload the software while the USB is inserted.
There are a lot more things that you could test, but it just sounds like another network is trying to overwrite your connection, and your computer is "defaulting" to the incorrect network. You can always "disable" all networks and only enable one at a time to see if that helps, too.
Good luck.

The computer I'm on right now is connected fine. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling the USB adapter software and hope for the best. But wha I don't understand is that it still says I'm connected to my network with five bars but I am unable to open any web page :P
