well, I have a question, we all know Thorim, and his -200def debuff
the thing I was wandering is:
bosses got a 5,6% crit chance, druids got a talent -6% crit. but are the bosses crit chance 5,6% against all lvl 80? or against lvl 80's with 400def?
because if it is against lvl 80's with 400def, druids would become crit-mune, if they don't get any other def in their gear, making Thorim a little harder :P
I hope u understood my question :P

It is possible for druid to put a PvP gear on with enough resilience to stay crit immune even with unbalancing strike debuff, which will allow druid to single tank boss.
Resilience doesnt work in PVE encounters. Resilience is a worthless attempt to stay crit immune.

ty Gesha, just what I needed to know :D
and @ antdog, resi isn't worthless in pvp, it reduces other things aswell, like periodic dmg, wich can be a huge factor :P.. but for druids it isn't as usefull as it is for other tank classes

This is incorrect and has been for a very very long time.... Resil is vry much still useable to become crit immune.
Edit: Crushing would only show up on the table if you are severely non-crit immune it is does at all and becoming crit immune through resil/def/talents/ would push it back out of the table.

Crushing blows CANNOT come from raid bosses, as they can only come from enemies who are 4 levels or more higher than you. Since raid bosses are at a static level of three levels higher than you in terms of being able to hit them, and defense requirements they can never land a crushing blow on you. This has been this way since 3.0 released.
Honestly, how some people manage to get their way into endgame raiding without knowing that is beyond me.
http://www.wowwiki.com/Defense
Crushing blows section.
"Only the player's base defense skill (capped at 5 times the player's level, e.g. 350 for a level 70 player or 400 for a level 80 player) is taken into account to determine the base chance for a Crushing Blow, and therefore Defense Rating on gear does not directly decrease the chance for a Crushing Blow. "
As far as I know, crushing blows still care about base defense skill and not the level, therefore player with less than 400 base defense can be crushed by boss even when he is at lvl 80.
Same crushing blows section:
As of patch 3.0, crushing blows can only happen if a mob attacks a player at least FOUR levels lower. Because "boss" level mobs are still considered to be level 83, they cannot crushing blow any level 80 character.

well, the reason I was asking was that my guild tried to do him on 10man hard-mode, and it seemed that the druid tank would take a *!@#load of dmg from 1 attack, and then I thought it might have been a crit :P
but as stated above, it is possible with 1 tank, but I think my guild have to get a little higher dps, and overall better gear, before we can do it... but I'm gonna spread the word to my guild about using 2 tanks on him, and who knows, why might get to kill him on hard-mode :P

When we killed him on hard mode, we used 2 tanks. Tank healing was very rough, even with tank switching on the -200 defense debuff. There were several very close calls near the end, when he starts raping tanks, but still. I'd say 2 tank is the way to go for hard mode. 10 man normal mode is stupidly easy, and thus can be single tanked.

each defense is 0.04% less dodge, parry, block, miss, and anti-crit.
thus at 200 less defense, you reduce your dodge/block/parry/miss by 8%, and increase the chance of being crit by 8%
For druids its probably not that bad compared to the other tanks, but i still swap. it'll be about 20% more damage taken, and it'll be spiky damage at that. A small knightmare for healers.

I still have one question though: what is a 'knightmare'? O_o
On a more serious note - it won't be 'about 20% more damage taken'. A critical hit from Thorim when he's got enough buffs means instant death. That's not 'a 20% damage increase' and sure as hell isn't a 'small
nightmare
'. Many tanks I've raided hard mode with have had an obscene rate of death during that final push. Everything has to be perfect for both the tanks AND all their healers to get it working.
