I'm staying Ret, regardless of if it's better or worse than Prot in PvP. :P It's just what I love playing, despite the obvious ignorance Blizzard has with the class and spec... :/

Went on PTR to test a bit - I will definitely be rolling with SoV for pvp. And stacking is not *that* bad - you can have 4-stack up quite fast (judgements hit for a lot on it too), and 5-stack is there on second CS. I will try to get my hands on some ridiculously fast weapon, and test stacking with that - charge in - stackstackstack - switch to main weapon - nuke.

Repentance.
Ret - Repentance: 1 minute Cd
Prot - 20 second HoJ Cd Can Absorb Damage for the party.
Dont bring up all the + & -'s to both specs <.<
No, I was merely responding to the OP who suggested that Prot had everything a Ret pally wants -"Almost everything i see ret paladins asking for, an interupt and a slow, prot pallies already have. Not to mention that their stun is on a 20 sec cd instead of 40."
Over a minute, you get 3x 20sec stuns, as opposed to 1.5x 40 sec stuns and a 1min Repentance. Considering that a pally can't Hand of Freedom out of Repentance, it adds utility. Not to mention the fact that you can stun someone who's just trinketed out of Repentance, and vice versa, so it provides opportunities for cc burst.
Not sure if the OP's ever played a Prot pally in arena or BG, but given lag and the flight time of Avenger's Shield, it's notoriously difficult to interrupt anyone casting anything shorter than a couple of seconds. You'll be able to stop someone channeling, you won't be able to stop most heals.
If 20 second stuns are so important that you're willing to sacrifice burst, why not go for the T2 Prot build, swap out three items to get 10 second stuns? (No really, why not?)
Not saying that Prot's not feasible in pvp - I regularly pvp in prot, and the Protribution spec being discussed concurrently has awesome burst capabilities. Just highlighting that Ret still has some advantages too.

The only nerf to Ret will be the nerf to "wellfare epic" Ret Pallies. Any well geared and skilled Ret will be worth his mettle. You just wont see EVERY Ret pwning the BG meters anymore. Its probly a good change, in the end all the bad players will reroll DKs or whatever.
I'm not too sure about that. From my time on the PTR, I changed very little of my playstyle, and was still doing great in BGs.
Don't let people fool you -- there's still a LOT of burst, especially when using SoC. I still have yet to really test SoV (yes, shame on me!) but I can confirm that I was able to kill other premade characters through the use of:
HoJ, Judge, CS, DS, Repentance, wait the second for Judge cooldown, Judge, CS, and throw an Exo and HoW.
And I know this still isn't even the ideal rotation, and that CS should be my opener (again, shame on me!), but it still throws out a lot of burst. I'll tinker with some SoV today or tomorrow hopefully.
I agree with Ghostcrawler, that a shift to being a "DPS race" instead of a "who bursts first" is what PvP should be like. There should be a lot more to it than who uses their stuns first. But
at the moment
, it's still a who-burst-who-first.
