If you go into the Interface menu and enable Autocast on Self you won't need a macro.

But if you for some reason don't want to enable autocast on self, a macro would look like
/cast Power Word Shield
That way it won't even need to target yourself i will just cast it on you.

You guys are only covering half of what he wants, and that's the easy half. Getting a macro to target him when he has something else targetted doesn't seem to be the problem, it's targetting what he had targetted before he cast a spell on himself.
If you turn on Autocast on Self, as someone else mentioned, this will allow you to automatically target yourself when you cast a beneficial spell, if you have no one or an enemy targetted.
If he uses for the spell, then he still IS targetting what he was targetting before...it just retargets the spell, not his actual target. That's what solves his problem. He doesn't NEED to change his target to himself to self-cast, and he wants to keep targetting what he had targetted before, and the best way to do that is to not change his target at all, right?
