Hiya everyone, would like to start off by thanking for your future helpful posts.
Well my problem is that my computer just turns off after about say an hour of playing wow. Then i restart the computer, log back in and five minutes later it shuts off again. This started last night in a raid, and has kept on going like this. Any ideas why? How can i fix this?
Think it may be because of it getting too hot but a friend told me it would make certain noises if it was
Thanks =).

You would know if it was overheating. I think that if you run a virus scan for your whole PC and leave that running. Also run any Anti Spyware programs that you have installed if any. I wouldn't know what be causing the problem but I know that it wouldn't be Windows at all. I think that it might be something third party or something like that. I have never actually heard of this before.

Im pretty sure it's not a virus, only happens when im running a game and after it happens, it's quite hot really so...
I'll check out the fan thanks =)
I don't have a lot of knowledge about computers so, what's a PSU? XD

PSU = Power Supply Unit. It's the massive square block that's in your computer that converts the electricity coming out of your wall into a lower voltage needed by your computer.
As for what could be happening:
CPU/GFX Overheating: Both of these will cause what's called a 'safety shutdown' Essentially if the piece of hardware that's overheating gets past a certain heat threshold, it will force the computer off in order to prevent damage to the hardware. This is especially common of CPU overheating. It also is the best fit to your description of it taking a while and then subsequent restarts causing it to shut off faster (since the CPU is still hot, it takes less time to hit the threshold and thus shutdown).
Bad PSU: As Neffykins stated, your computer's power supply could also be dieing. This causes intermittent power loss that can cause the computer to suddenly shut off without warning.
Broken/Frayed Power Cable: Same issue as a bad PSU
Faulty RAM: Bad computer memory can cause a similar issue to what you're describing, but you'd be more likely to see a blue screen or the computer would restart than see it just shut down.
Bad Motherboard: This one is the least likely, but a short on your motherboard can also cause unintended shutdowns. However, this is unlikely the cause of your specific issue because in most cases of motherboard failure, your computer will not turn back on.
Hope that helps a bit :P

Make sure you're properly grounded and avoid touching the parts roughly. Brush them off lightly if they have dust on them. Pay attention to any fans and the heatsinks.
Better yet, don't touch them at all. Get a can of compressed air :P
