there has been alot of controversy over whether or not ret is op or too easy to play and along with that, many suggestions on how to fix the class but i personally love what blizzard has done to them on the 3.2 ptr atm.
vengance is obviously the more powerful seal but it takes time to start up the real dmg and it gives no mana returning properties, thus it has its pros and cons.
command is the same, per swing damage is great but it lacks judgement dmg. to balance this with vengance having substantially more dmg than command, the glyph offers 8% mana back per judge, which also gives this seal its ups and downs.
both of these new seals (one being slow start, on being low dmg judgement wise) lower our burst, along with the 4 sec crusader strike, our burst is lowered to the point where people shouldnt be qq'n about how we're op. on top of that art of war procs only on melee and we have to choose between exorcism and flash of light when it does proc which lessens both our dmg and survivability depending on choice/cooldown.
with these changes i have been testing as a pally and against pallies's as warrior and shaman in both pvp and pve and in comparison to the early wotlk pally we are slightly more balanced with most classes, i stil lgot the occasional qq about being op but the fact still remains, we have no interupt, mortal strike effect, a gap/distance closing skill and our burst is lowered.
this is just what i have noticed in my tests as/against ret pally(s).
your feedback on this?
