Just a little idea...

Since may people have wanted to be able to start alts on higher levels than normal, I had an idea on how Bliz could go about doing that. There could be sort of "packages" that you could buy with emblems earned in whatever max level level heroic dungeons/raids that would be in the game at that point. The higher quality emblem, the less of them it would take to buy one.
The packages themselves would be BoA items that you would mail to an alt, they would use it, they would get an item that would boost them to whatever level the package was set for, and get a full set of green gear, with a few blues scattered in there, for their new level.
Just a few examples to show what I mean, for a level 58+68 version.
Outlandish Crate of Experience
Binds to Account
Requires level 20 to 57
Use: Smash it open!
"You hear many items shifting around in
there when you shake it. It oozes
with arcane energy."
Frozen Crate of Experience
Requires level 20-67
Use: Smash it open!
"You hear many items sliding around in
there when you tilt it. It seems to be
made of solid ice"
In case you're wondering, I made the minimum requirement level 20 just so people would have a chance to learn the basics of the class they plan to send a crate, so the whole problem with new DK's in lower level Outland instances wouldn't happen again. Obviously the higher level the crate boosts you to, the more emblems it would cost. You would obviously still need to send said alt some money for mounts, glyphs, bags, etc.
As the level cap climbs higher, Bliz will probably need to have some sort of system besides recruit-a-friend, since that only works until level 60. I just wanted to see if i could get any opinions on the idea, just to see what people think.
P.S. /cast
Flame Shield
P.P.S. Well it's close enough to a flame shield anyways...

I like this idea, it's very nice and it takes one of the major flaws (learning your class) and fixes it. But there is a slight issue with boosting them from 20-58/68. They have to buy ALL the skills between the levels. Plus there are certain things classes get at certain levels that are important. For instance, Shadowform, we get it at 40 and if we skip right past that level it may not occur to us that it's there because they don't have knowledge of the class.

Hmm... well I suppose that's what the forums are there for, but unfortunately, not everyone actually reads the forums... Gimme a minute, I'll get back to you with an idea.
EDIT: Got one! Maybe it could come with a little guide giving a basic outline of all major skills? Hmm... tough problem to solve... usually people do read a forum when making an alt so they have some idea of what they're doing. I suppose the people that don't read forums wouldn't be able to keep a group long enough in a heroic to get any emblems before they get kicked. =P

If you have a lvl 80 toon, you should have at least basic knowledge of the others class.
On topic: I think that jump straight to Northrend is a big jump, at least in this expansion set. Go right to Outland is more than enough, it's pretty fast to go trought it and it's more time to learn the new class.
Well I figured they wouldn't put this in until a later expansion, so Nothrend seemed reasonable to put a pack for too, and if you were too impatient to save up the extra emblems for it, you could just buy the Outland pack, it's only 10 more levels. Then again, that 10 levels would probably take longer unless there was a reeeeeeeealy big gap in between the costs of the two packages.

This is true, but what if they are the select few that doesn't? When you generally want to implement an idea you have to think of EVERYTHING. So I guess Im just playing the devils advocate.

Go for it, devil's advocates can really help perfect an idea!
Like I said, I think a little pamphlet of important skills would work. Although when they see what
Shadowform
does, and still didn't take it, then they really just shouldn't even be playing the class, or the game in general really, if they don't take a 15% dps boost, a 30% threat reduction, and critting DoT's all for just one talent point.
Also, maybe they could have PvP versions too, bought with honor/arena points, since people will be able to get exp from BG's in the next patch.

Win. Seriously love this idea. Get past the boring middle part of the levels where you can't take something more than 2 levels above you and go staight to epicness where you are soloing elites.

A great idea. however a jump that large would be unreasonable. THis is why:
First it completly makes pre bc areas obselete to all except new players. This is a problem as new players wont be able to experience dungeons until outland and maybe even northrend. Right now it is a rare thing to run a pre bc dungeon but it happens.
Secondly and the most obvious is most people will not learn how to play their class. At this stage you still get alot of ppl who have no idea how to play. Even those who have reached lvl80 arent always what you would call competent let alone amazing.
Next you will destroy the economy for low level items/herbs/ores/skins etc. With no low levels coming across these items as they level there will not be much found inside the AH. Therefore the price will sky rocket. THis is a good and bad thing. but ultimately i dont think it could be healthy for the economy.
Now id love this to be implemented but to allow toons to level that quick is just alittle to much. If im reading it right the OP suggests going from 20 to 60 in seconds. Now if you where to have it that way these problems would arise. however i would suggest that these items take you up 5 levels (5 being a fair amount to get a bosst whilst stil playing your class). When you buy the item there are different ones that wil take you from say 20-25, 25-30,35-40 and so that way each has a different value depending on which level you buy. if your level 24 you buy the 20-25 range one. once used it will take you up to 29. i think this would be the best way for it to work.
Furthermore i suggest a (insert reasonable time amount something like 5hrs) PLAYED CD. THat way with each pack you buy you must play that toon for 5hrs before you may use another.
Lastly make them fairly expensive so that people dont completely abuse the system. make it a choice between that nice badge gear or a boost for your alt.
Most of you will say this is abit unreasonable but if you think of its either this or nothing at all and id definetly take this.
Umm if there were multiple boxes, people could just use them all in a row... Besides, if you actually have one of these crates, then someone should assume that you already have a max level character, and have already completed lower level content and wouldn't really want to do it again.
Also, about the not learning your class problem, see the quote below:
Would probably make this plan even more complicated, but maybe there could be a questline that comes from the box also that helps between the few levels you miss that make you do a training of that skill. Such as use this spell this many times on this mob or such. Maybe something to work with. I think also, that you should only be able to do this if you have a max toon so that way the person would know about the lower level dungeons and quests. I didn't read every response so if this has already been mentioned or etc please ignore it.
That is a good idea, maybe when you use the box you get sent to a special zone that tells you about it and teaches you what to do, like the Aspirants quests teach you about the Argent Tournament and how to fight on horses.
