Until recently, I've been using mainly
Illustration of the Dragon Soul
and
Soul of the Dead
, which have served me well in Ulduar-25. Last night I got a third trinket,
Pandora's Plea
.
I'm struggling a little bit trying to figure out which 2 of these 3 trinkets to use while healing. My gut is telling me that Soul of the Dead and Pandora's Plea would be best, but my Rawr is telling me to use Illustration and Pandora.
Considering I'm hardly ever outside the FSR, the buff from Illustration never wears off except for the breaks between Mimiron phases.
My stats with Pandora's Plea and Soul of the Dead, raid-buffed, are about 2350 spellpower, 29k mana, and 32% holy crit.
Thoughts? Opinions? Is my Rawr full of sh*t?

I wouldn't use Pandora's Plea over either of them at all. :| Intellect helps priests, sure, but I hate the randomness of the proc on it. I prefer controllable procs, or procs that are ALWAYS helpful, not just before the fight even starts and I'm preshielding, only for it to waste the proc for 45 seconds, at least.

Zora's right. Random proc trinkets aren't that dependable for healers and are really only appreciated in long encounters.
I'd rather keep my spellpower around 2200 all the time rather than have it jump between 2000 and 2700 at random.
For dps it doesn't matter as much but for healers, control is everything. I'm sad to say that both of my trinkets are random proc'd :(

Well I think Soul and Pandora would be the best... the mana gain from Soul is just too sweet^^
you would loose 1.3% crit from soul of Dead... whcih is not worth it I guess, adding the chance to regain mana I dont think its viable at all

Let's break it down to what each trinket gives you
Illustration of the Dragon Soul
200 sp
Soul of the Dead
2.07% crit
approximately 75mp5
Pandora's Plea
.
124 int (1860 mana)
.74% crit
a somewhat useful proc, but the randomness makes it nearly worthless for a healer
Your stats raid buffed: 2350 sp, 29k mana, and 32% crit
Your mana pool honestly seems to be high enough, so unless you want to hit the 30k mark, 75mp5 will probably help your longevity more, and Soul of the Dead gives you 1.33% more crit than Pandora's Plea.
I'd honestly keep the same two trinkets you have and use Pandora's Plea situationaly.

Soul of the Dead
is about 2% crit and gives me just a little more mana returns than
Insightful Earthsiege Diamond
over the course of a typical 5 to 8 minute fight. The two of them together account for about 25% of my total mana regen. Fully raid buffed, I get about 72.5 mana per second from Replenishment, and 725 mana from
Rapture
.
I'm finding that not only do I never have to chug mana potions, but I rarely even have to use my Shadowfiend anymore because of my 29k mana pool and outrageous amount of regen. I'm comfortable with the amount of mana and regen that I have now, but it's hard for me to put the Illustration of the Dragon Soul in the bank just yet. The 200 spellpower is hard to just ignore. Perhaps I will just switch a couple gems for a bit extra spellpower, because I'm only at about 2350 with full raid buffs and that seems a bit low I think.

Go to your local trinket shop and buy Eye of the Broodmother. This little baby will match Illustration like a dream. I know a guy who can get you one for cheap; send me a tell and I'll hook you up.
If you have no mana problems, you should (a) regem for pure spellpower, (b) lose all regen trinkets, including SotD, and (c) start using shadow fiend if you need him (no shame in using it!). At your gear level, you should be seeing 3k+ spellpower in full 25 raid buffs (and with Illustration active).

the best of those three trinkets is Soul of the Dead... 2% crit and the mana regen can't be beaten by any of those trinkets...

Couldn't have said it better myself.
And what Zoralink said earlier about the randomness of sp procs is pretty on the money too.
If you're not having mana issues, drop the regen and stack spell power. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how little regen you need to deliberately stack on your gear.

Soul of the Dead and Eye of the Brood Mother give a really nice balanced mix for discipline
4% crit
900 mana return
125 Spell Power

MP5 is better than spirit for a discipline priest, yes. Energy Siphon or Je'Tze's Bell however, is a debate depending on whether or not you have issues with mana. But yeah. MP5 is definately good for discipline, not as much for holy, but still not bad.
Post by

mp5 does the same for holy as it would for disc, the only difference is, spirit benefits holy more, where disc doesn't get
Spiritual Guidance
and
Holy Concentration
.
That being "mp5" gear vs "spirit" gear. Both stats eventually contribute to your total "mp5." mp5 gear isn't affected by 5sr whereas spirit is. <<I'm willing to bet every single person that reads that already knows what I just said.>>
