So I saw an
insane Mage PvP video
today, and I was wondering if the
spec
in the video would be viable anymore?

I would have to say yes, I've pvp'd with a similar spec(although i prefer pom pyro) so i'd say it's still viable. Most spec(except pure fire) can pvp pretty well as long as you've got skill and know the class.

Fire is workable if you're incredibly good, you could draw on your computer screen from memory a little diagram showing where your DB would hit, you have incredible gear and are completely okay with the fact you could probably do better with arcane or frost.
I hate videos where they use the berserk buff. I've literally killed DKs in one global before without berserker, but no one believes it because, hey, EVERYONE uses berserker, amirite?
I avoid using such things. Nothing deprograms your pvp-ability like super buffs you won't see in duels, world pvp, and arena.
I must admit the funnest BG I was ever in, i was FFB pve specced, and went in with pve gear. When the enemies weren't slaughtering me in 3 seconds, I was getting off 10-12k crits with FFB.
at least with pvp gear, you konw you're not missing those fools.
going in with pve gear as pve arcane is fun.. letting loose a MB proc with 3 stacks of AB, and watching someone's health bar just tick away for 5k a slice... fun times.
