Ret Pallies haven't really been my bane, although I'm a BG guy right now. I'm sure in Arenas they're much worse.
So yeah, I don't see how this is so great for us.

It mattered a lot to mages in BC when one of the tailored sets didn't include a robe (tunic only) and people freaked. It may have calmed down these days, but people care. They're just not as vocal.
I don't mind the aesthetic questions because it doesn't take away from any other questions. They're easy to answer and don't take any time. I can't imagine they'd put one less functionality question in just because they answered a look-and-feel question.

I think the point that mahbauls has been getting at with this post is that blizzard has been aching for a way to make frost pve damage better without making it ridiculous in pvp. If they've managed to do that for paladins, maybe there is hope that they can find something to do for frost mages.
also, yes... i really do think blizz realized we jumped their s@#$ for the robes v. tunics question, and that IS why they're including aesthetical questions into other classes (shamans, locks with the green fire, and now pallies)
