People are surprised at the dps I can pump out with my gear, so I wouldn't say cats are totally gear dependent. Our rotation is more difficult than a lot of classes, but once you get it down you can really hit the meters hard.
The biggest problem is our aggro. With Vigilance and Hand of Salvation, I was able to put out 1k more dps than normal on a boss fight. So the only thing that holds a cat back is their aggro inefficiency.

Take a look at the '
Agility vs Armor Penetration
' topic and see some nice numbers. Ferals can be top DPS on many encounters, given comparable gear levels with their raid mates and mastering the DPS cycle intricacies.

Generally, behind the boss.

Top tier I'd say. Being a level 73 in Greens and wrecking the damage meters (1.1k to 1.3k) is fun, assuming I actually get the DPS role.
Though my mileage varies a lot, since with a bad tank i spend a lot of time shadowmelded or cowering and halving that number.

Bleh, I was just boasting about my cat DPS and turns out i only get that much on swipe spam.
Reg DTK run, 850-ish DPS at level 73. I blame the boomkin for stealing my thunder.

Savage Roar at 75 means you can basically multiply that number by 1.3 (850*1.3 = 1105 !), not to mention every new rank of Rip Rake and Shred as you level =D When my guild was clearing Karazhan every week at 70, we used to think anything over 600 dps was 'phat; the few times we saw someone clear 1000 were mind blowing (I realize uber people were doing 2.5k, but we were noobs)-- So I think you're doing great =D

looks like ferals are getting hit hard next patch though, guess I will have to see the differences.
Scaling is not changed.

Not quite. They are getting a very minor hit, you can hardly call it hard.
That minor hit is quite well deserved since cat dps really was a little OP, especially for freshly dinged 80 kitties.
Someone on EJ calculated the nerf and in full Uld gear it was only something like 2%. Being also able to heal and tank and offer awesome party support I think it's fair that Rogues are allowed to hit a little harder then Druids.

The fact that you posted this means that the nerfs are having the desired effect. Getting people to shut up about druids being OP and satisfying them with a nerf.
