I have a friend who was getting bored off WoW on his mage about the same level as your rogue. He wouldn't want to bother with the "easy" quests, but the challenging quests were too hard. He would also refuse to PuG, even just for group quests. His work schedule wouldn't allow him to be on the same time as me or the majority of our guild so he was getting bored in that way as well.
I finally had to convince him that if he ever wanted to hit 80 that he'd have to... Accept PuGs now and then, do the easy quests that lead to challenging soloable ones, and that the easy quests still gave gold and nearly as much xp as the rest at his level.
He's now at 80, has a schedule more conducive to running dungeons and raids, and really likes his mage!
Just remember, this is an M

O, so get yourself in a good guild that is fun to chat with during those solo grinds. Don't give up so close to the awesome multiplayer content that awaits you at 80. And if all fails, roll a druid :)

Well, druid is my favorite, and I think the best hybrid class. You can go tank, melee dps, caster dps, or heals. With just a quick respec and gear change you can be anything the game offers without having to level a different toon.
