no. the patch is not going live today.
No. Nobody knows when.
Today's regularly scheduled
maintenance
has not gone over the announced time as of yet. It is not scheduled to be finished until 11am PDT which as of right now is still an hour away.

It seems to me that whenever blizz says a patch will be over at (enter time here) its usaly done at least two hours later. Anybody else have these problyms?
Microsoft time.
No, really. While I doubt that the servers are Microsoft-based, the rule of Microsoft time still applies.
For anyone not "in the know", Microsoft time does not correspond to our regular time measurements. For instance, when you're downloading a patch it may say that 30 seconds remain - but that 30 seconds is Microsoft time, which means that those 30 seconds may take anywhere from 10 seconds to 40 minutes in perceived time to complete.
Blizzard - heck, I'd guess every computer-based operation - suffers from the same problem.

For those that fail at time keeping. Blizzard is on the West Coast of the US. Thats Pacific Daylight Savings time (PDT). That means if its 12:16 PM EDT in New York (Eastern) then its 11:16 AM CDT in Chicago (Central), 10:16 AM MDT in Denver (Mountian) and 9:16 AM PST in LA (on the west coast where blizzard is located).

With luck, the patch won't drop for at least another month.
Yes, that means no conquest from heroics for now, thank God.

When I read your title, I died a bit on the inside. Patches have never been announced until the day it happens.
As for you my good sir, check your grammar a bit more please.

Updates get delayed occasionally. You can never plan for every possible problem, especially when dealing with something as complex as a MMO.
If you can't deal with that, you may find other genres more to your liking.

Fixed. Please don't judge the entire software world on the crap M$ pumps out.
Try Linux, or hell, even a Mac.
Unix-based systems are generally built NOT to confuse, lie to, or treat it's users like thieves.
(And they tend to fix bugs... like say; decades old imprecision bugs in the copy dialogs)
Granted, many a Windows user has panicked, upon first trying a non-Windows OS, when discovering that the UI does not look
exactly
like their precious Windows, and consequently returned screaming about how complex it is.
But I assure you, it is not.
Although, installing WoW might be a challenge for first time users :-)
(Not difficault, by any means, just not as easy as on Windows)
