Is it easy to level with Resto?

Noooo.
Did resto, did balance, levelled faster as resto. Even now, my moonkin grinds in cat, and I'm seriously considering redoing my talents to pick up Omen of Clarity to make grinding less painful.
Balance is extremely gear dependant... if you didn't gear with the right sort of items I could see how this is
possible
, but its still a long shot to me. Maybe playing as a dps caster just isn't your thing? No offence intended.
WIth feral now at 46 I have no downtime unless I pull two or more mobs, using pounce, fff, shred, shred then a finisher. I heal all I need to with Improved MotW. I can survive against 4 mobs 2 levels higher than me without shifting out of bear, frenzied regen 4tw!
My advice would be feral all the way for levelling. You can tinker with other things, but you're really experimenting and thus wasting time.

I levelled as balance 1-60 and resto with ToL 60-70. For the low levels it's all about buying loads of water. Gear is definitely not an issue, you can use all the stuff that mages/warlocks/priests can. I would recommend having tailoring all the way to 70. As resto I farmed the tbc instances pretty much non-stop, which made gearing up for both resto and balance a lot easier. Grinding as resto is still a pain in the arse, but you save a lot of time in terms of gear farming later on.
I still think you'd be ahead in time if you levelled feral, THEN spent the time grinding for gear. Well ahead in fact.

I don't think anyone could claim that balance does more dmg than equivalently geared feral, so killing the mobs is faster. Balance has downtime to drink where feral has none. So to actually complete the quests, feral is fastest. You could argue that resto has the best survivability, but more often than not killing your enemies faster will leave you in a much better state when the fighting stops.
I have heard the word "grind" used at several points on this thread and it's worth noting that you should hardly grind anything at all when lvling. If you research into speed-lvling you will find that it is all about doing quests... pretty much ALL the quests, apart from a few badly designed ones that consume way too much time. You must make sure you are doing all the quests you can in the same area at the same time, which often means waiting to do a few pre-q's from other quest lines before accepting a quest. At the beginning of each play session, 10 minutes spent researching the quests on Wowhead can save you hours in running back and forth to the same places to kill the same mobs you just killed.
This is how speed levellers get 1-60 in 4 days played (yes 4!) :-)

I'm curious as to whether I should re-spec to Feral for ease of levelling or if I'm fine with going Resto.
If you level into Resto get ready to instance grind all the way to 70 because soloing is way out of the picture.

One thing I don't think can be emphasized enough about leveling feral is how good Feral Swiftness is. It cuts down on time spent traveling before travel form, and at all times it shaves a few seconds of travel time between mobs off. Multiply those few seconds by thousands of mobs and you have a significant savings.

You're obviously new to this board, and it'd seem you're new to forums in general, but please refrain from bringing up dead topics. The last post here before yours was over a year ago. If you want to talk about this topic, create a new thread. Simple. :)

If you like healing, I'd say go balance. Balance is a lot better leveling then it use to be, and really comes out pretty even with feral as far as leveling goes after a while.
