. It almost plays the game for you, it's that easy. Which is why it sucks...you should still be smart enough to know your class. But for an offspec shadow priest, having this kind of assistance will be very helpful, at least until you learn your rhythms and develop an eye for watching timers & debuffs (instead of health bars).

Use these for spamming, to compensate for poor latency/lag spikes while maximizing dps. Losing the last tick off of either of these will hurt your dps, and if you clip them consistently, get you kicked from the raid for poor dps.
Where that "never clip" stuff comes from?
I'm not positive exactly what your asking, but if your asking why you shouldn't clip, it's pretty simple. Take MF for instance, one channeled spell (without haste) looks like 1s channel > damage > 1s > damage > 1s > damage. When you clip this spell, part of that last 1s get's used up, but none of the damage following it does, you could very well use up .99s of the channel, but the resulting damage would still be 0, resulting in nearly a second of wasted channeling.
The same theory goes for clipping DoTs. While your not actively channeling at the time, the DoT's "channel" gets wasted. The only time I'd consider it acceptable to clip a DoT is when you know the boss will go through a period where DoTs still damage it, but you can't attack it. Clipping a MF can be acceptable if it means you can cast MB or refresh a DoT sooner. Keep in mind that if you have 1.5 or less seconds until the CD/DoT is used up, cast SW:D as a filler, not MF.
