Ardent Defender
Ardent Defender: Redesigned. Currently, any damage taken by the paladin while at 35% health or below is reduced. Instead, any attack that would reduce the paladin to 35% health or below has its damage reduced. In addition, once every 2 minutes an attack that would have killed the paladin will fail to kill, and instead set the paladin's health to 10/20/30% of maximum.
Now I know the wording here says "attack" but with the new feature of popping back up like the weeds in my yard added, how will this react to
fall damage.
Are we going to see a flock of prot paladins base jumping from the Great Lift and then walking it off....?
Cheers,
Hat

Anything like
Divine Shield
,
Hand of Protection
, or
Levitate
is just like using a
Parachute
I hoping that the new talent will hopfully let us beat those rogues in
unassited
jumping.

Does Divine shield prevent death from falling, I was sure I tried a few times and still ate it, I know HoP does but didn't think any of our shields did.

Divine Shield and Hand of Protection both make you immune to ALL falling damage.
HOWEVER, if your fall takes longer than the duration of the shield, it's possible to use it TOO EARLY, and have it wear off before you hit the ground. To prevent this, just use it a few seconds before you hit the ground (Don't underestimate lag).
I'm 99.99% sure that the new ardent defender will not save you from falling damage. No ability that doesn't make you invulnerable or 'slow fall' saves you from fall damage.
However, a long time ago, flat damage reduction talents and abilities (barkskin and defensive stance, etc) used to be able to save you from falls of any height (long since nerfed).

It will not save you from fall damage.

At the very least, it should reduce the damage taken by 30% for the portion under 35% health, even it doesn't count as an auto-res.

Falls from heights that would do 100% of your health always do 100% of your health unless you are invulnerable.

don't know about u, but do u know the meaning "rain of ret"?
it is somthing pala do in my server when they r ganking aliys...
just flying with mounts at max fly point and dismount over a pack of aliys so sudenly 3~4 pala ret all bubbled falling from the sky starting dps.... really funny...
any other class that will try this will die cause he don't have the bubble meaning bubble stop falling dmg.
the only places that it won't stop it is when u fall to "endless pit"
like the in ulduar to kolagon feets, even that u can see the "end it is "endless pit" so u will die on impact even if u r bubbled.

It really is looking like a protection paladin will be INSANE to kill in pvp now. I wouldn't be surprised that if you stack the stamina high enough that you would never be able to be killed if you can keep alive for two minutes between your ardent defender. The only issue will be mana issues, and that is not nearly as bad as it was.
