I left WOW almost 2 years ago and just reactivated my account, only to discover that I'm now "untalented" lol. I'm not sure what happened. But I have a bunch of talent points to assign for my lvl 70 Priest. Of course, I lost all my add on's because I Switched CPU's and had to reload the program (Burning Crusade) all over again.
After all this time, I think I've forgotten more than I ever actually knew. I started out as a SP and then respec'd to Holy after I reached 70. I was only Holy for a short time though. Ran a few instances, picked up a few keys, but that was about it.
Any suggestions on the best way to restart my toon? Should I go shadow again until I get to 80 and then respec for instances/raids, or do the Holy/Disci spec now that's suggested in one of the threads of this forum?
Oh, and one more question. What is this Glyph stuff? Do I need to get the latest game expansion to use them or am I good for a while with the BC version?
Thanks

As a priest now, the main differences from TBC are:
-discipline is raid viable as a tank healing spec, in part due to the new talent:
-
Penance
, which is a very powerful channeled heal for pve and pvp (with an awesome animation)
-We have an AOE spell (and a great one at that).
Mind Sear
is crazy powerful, and is quite cool as you can target any enemy mob to cast it on and they become the source of the spell.
-Disc is, as always was in TBC, an excellent pvp healer.
-Holy is pretty great as a raid healer, I usually top healing charts above resto shammies when i'm 25 manning as holy.
-Shadow is a great dps spec, no longer will we lose spots to mages or locks all the time!
I would definately recommend levelling as shadow, with dual specs you could have a holy or disc offspec and try that too.

Thanks all for the good suggestions. After reading thru the Helpful Hints by Gryphon and the post on Discipline priests by Samanouske, The thought of switching to Discipline sounds interesting. So I guess I'll be following in your footsteps, Jabra.
One of the reasons I left WOW 2 yrs ago was because I was playing almost exclusively solo as a shadow priest. I really never got connected well with a guild and found it difficult to secure a spot in the 5 man PUG's. I switched to Holy and was able to get groups easier, but needless to say, I was a novice at playing my new role.
I'm thinking that the Discipline spec will let me level up from 70 to 80 and also provide a good chance to build my playing skills in 5 man dungeons. (Who knows, I might even make a few new friends in the process and not be so tempted to go it alone all the time.) Just maybe along the way, I can acquire enough competency to become an attractive addition to a decent guild too.
The discipline spec shown was for level 80 and was 57/14/0. But I don't have that many skill points yet, just 61. Any suggestions as to what I could cut out at this moment? I could take all the Disc and just put 4 points in Holy, or keep the Holy as-is at 14, and scale back on the DIsc, or something in between. Comments?

You should pick up dual spec. With that you will have 2 talent trees between which you can switch at any time. It's awesome but it costs 1000 gold (which you might have since you already played for quite a while). If you have them that's the best way to spend them ;)
For leveling (doing quests solo toll 80) shadow is probably a lot easier then disc. That's where the dual spec shines: You can heal instances as disc and still do quests very fast as shadow. If you don't have the money for dual spec I'd suggest going with shadow until you are 80 and then doing a few quests to get the money for dual spec (quests at 80 don't give xp anymore but you get "compensation" in form of gold - each quest gives about 13g, there are even a few with up to 26g, you will be able to get the 1000g for dual spec in 1-2 days).

This sounded "too good to be true" MegaVolt, so I did a db search on dual spec, and behold it is as you say. TYVM for this info, it changes things in a huge way!. I do have a little over 1K in gold so I'll head over to the trainer and get-r-done. I'll spec up with Discipline and Shadow. Question: Later, after I get to 80, if want to drop one of the spec's can I respec to Holy?
