Druid tanking in 3.2

Let me start by saying that I did a few quick searches, and couldn't find a thread already discussing this topic. However it seems a little surprising, and I've probably just failed at searching. If this is the case, please point me to the correct thread.
On to the crux, the 3.2 patch notes:
Agility: The amount of agility required per percentage of dodge has been increased by 15%. This change required recalibrating the amount of dodge a player has with 0 agility by a slight amount as well, so all players will see their dodge percentage vary a small amount.
Dodge Rating: The amount of dodge rating required per percentage of dodge has been increased by 15%. This is before diminishing returns. Combined with other changes, this makes dodge rating and parry rating equally potent before diminishing returns apply.
For a tanking class that, for the moment at least, has the reputation of being under-powered (or at the very most, on par) compared to the other tanks, this seems like an odd thing to nerf.
What sort of effects are people noticing on the test realms? It seems like quite a big deal, on the surface at least.
I'm concerned, because I've been levelling my druid in the hopes of being feral/feral and tanking some end-game content for my guild. If this change is going to make it too difficult to accomplish (without causing healers a nervous breakdown), I might have to rethink my plans.
I guess of course, time will tell. They may not even push these changes into the final patch, but at this stage it's looking pretty likely that little will change before 3.2 goes live.

we'll still be viable, i bet its going to nerf diminishing returns a little bit, i havnt gone to the test realm yet but i do not expect to have a huge percentage loss, take a piece of gear off and notice you do not lose that much dodge from a small loss of agi
and druid tanks arnt underpowered but i dont want to get into this debate

I downloaded the latest PTR build and checked it out. Short comparison:
Live status:
1155 agility, 104 defense rating, 127 dodge rating, essential Tank spec => 41.18% dodge
PTR status:
1155 agility, 104 defense rating, 127 dodge rating, the same Tank spec => 39.01% dodge
A little more than 2% dodge decrease. Pretty sh
i
tty if you ask me. I know, lvl 245 gear will bring more agility but still... fcuk this >_>

Yeah , i think this is gonna be a bad change, someone Iknow did some math and said it was like a 13% nerf. I dont know if thats true (I suck at the math)but if it is thats a huge change. Maybe druid tanks doing 25 man hard mode stuff wont feel it as bad , but for all the not so geared druid tanks this is gonna be awful.
This is with some naxx 25 gear and the rest naxx 10
Current Live stats 910Agi, 120 defense rating and 226 dodge rating
I have 40% dodge with motw and if im gonna lose around 2% dodge thats gonna drasticaly change my tanking. And now that paladins are getting buffed , I feel that we will be getting kicked to the curb by many groups. Less armor and HP in last patch and now less dodge this time around, I just hope this dosent turn out as bad as I think it will.

Maul faces!
Hey, at least we have our pussy cats to be happy with! :D Not to say that Tauren Pussy Cat Form looks ABSOLUTELY LOVELY <3

how are the other classes being affected by the dodge nerf in comparison to druids
just remember last time we might have thought it was going to be a big druid nerf seeing that we lost armor and health but i dont mind the 'block' mechanic too much honestly i seem to take less damage because of it in most circumstances

From what I've seen it's only a 2% nerf in current gear. Which I can imagine is easily recoverable once you start seeing people in T9 gear. Insignificant in the long run and it will hardly stop most ferals in serious raiding guilds from tanking once the patch hits.

I understand what you are saying , but as I said before if you are not already in 25man Ulduar hardmode gear this change is gonna make tanking for undergeared druids alot more painful. There are alot of druids not in serious hardcore raiding guild , so while it wont matter much for the ones that are, anyone who isnt is gonna suffer. I am looking at what this will do to my druid in a mix of 10/25 naxx gear and I see a lot more damage coming in. I have 40% dodge and 33khp, losing 2% is gonna be painfull. And for those that are less geared than I am , this is gonna be down right awful.
I hope im wrong and its not gonna be that bad, but I doubt it.

if you are not already in 25man Ulduar hardmode gearBlah blah blah. No need to make a tragedy out of this. It sucks, I agree, but still... Things are simple. So far, the base formula for agility to dodge is
41.6 agility = 1% dodge
From 3.2 it will be
47.84 agility = 1% dodge
And it will affect 'entry level' geared Bears (lvl 200 epics) about as much as it affects 'high end' geared ones (lvl 226 epics). Indeed, it may be somewhat of a hit for Bears entering Tier 7 raid content, but 2% isn't going to make or break the tanking effectiveness.
This change was implemented to keep tanks from reaching too high levels of avoidance in end game content gear. After all, with such a high avoidance, what challenge would there be? I like scary moments when I don't dodge as many hits as I would like. I like horror games >:)

Dude you got to be kidding me. If you honestly think that loosing 2% loss in your dodge while in naxx 10/25 man gear is going to inhibit your ability to tank content then you might as well stop tanking now as I wouldn't want someone who is that picky on their stats to be tanking anything for me. Your still going to be in the mid 40's while raid buffed, your still going to have healers on you, your armor is going to be the same as will your stamina. It ISN'T a big deal.
Stop worrying, look at what badge gear your going to pick up with the patch and move on. Geeze, people complain so much these days about trivial changes.

I dont think that im being picky about losing 2% dodge, but thats me. I dont think I wont be able to tank, but I do think that it will change the way I do things. Just as I still think that this will negatively affect lower geared druids. I wasnt trying to come off as "omg blizz nerfed the hell out of druids and we cant tank anymore" but wanted to voice my concerns about this change to lower geared druids.
As for getting better gear with emblems, that part slipped my mind. I forgot about being able to get the emblem gear with the changes. However I will still need to run heroics/raids to get the emblems for the gear so it wouldnt be like I could get all the gear right away. Fully raid buffed I can hit 42/44k hp (depending on the buffs)and 44/45% dodge before trinkets, mongoose procs. I dont always get to run with the best healers so losing any sort of mitigation is gonna suck, so for me this is a concern. Like I said hopefully it wont be that big of a deal.

Another thing your not thinking about is that in the higher end content agility/dodge start to take lower priority to stamina. I can say that my dodge in Uldular gear is about the same it was in naxx gear (only baout 2-3% higher), the biggest difference is now I'm gemming and enchanting for stamina due to the fact that hard mode bosses can nail me for 20k a swing and I need as much of a cushion that I can get.
As long as your between 45-55% dodge raid buffed you'll be fine. Which I can guarantee you every bear druid who has 2 brain cells can and will be at that mark easily. I think that people put too much emphasis on migration and not enough on simple survival. 2% is nothing, you can get that from a single trinket or a ring or 2.
Trust me, it isn't and won't be a big deal. Especially once you begin gearing up and enchanting for higher end content. The stats will balance out and everyone will be happy in the end.

Yeah I see what your saying, I was actually at the point of trying to add more stam to my gear for that reason. I've only been able to run Uldaur 10 on my hunter and that was in a pug so I havent been able to get any higher gear to see how that changes my stats. I know they say to start stacking more stam when u get to 38-40 % dodge unbuffed because of the large hits that the bosses can do. I was working on that before I had to cancel my account( been out of work for a while and needed to use that money for other stuff)but was trying not to lose to much dodge in exchange for stam.I did Deconstructor in 25 man one time and he was hitting me for 22-24k a pop, did fine for the first 40% till I lost a healer and then the hits were to much that I went down , and I had 42.5k hp.
Now that I have settled and let my brain actually think things out, I am felling a little better about the change. Time will tell if it will be a bad thing I guess, just have to wait for it.
