U can farm tons of emblem of heroism to buy a lot of raw gems to cut.
If you are bored with heroics, u can farm honor points, to buy raw gems too.
Grinding honor points with the sole intention of purchasing gems, and selling them in the AH, is probably a waste of time. ...it will take you two hours to purchase one gem (Scarlet Ruby), which... will sell for 100g. That's 50g/hour.
I think the idea was to stock up on the emblems and/or honor points, but not to use them to purchase gems until the patch hits. A
cardinal
ruby (epic) will certainly sell for more than 100g, cut or uncut.
The only real problem is the honor cap. Luckily there's no cap on emblem hoarding!
