well, i haven't used dotimer in quite some time but what you're trying to do is show a particular buff on yourself along with your DoTs. i'm pretty sure DoTimer could do this, though maybe in a separate panel to the actual DoTs.
my advice is get buttontimers. you choose what you want to see and where you want it to be shown. whether it's DoTs on your target, cooldowns or buffs on yourself it shows them all in a very simple and easy to comprehend way.

Hmm... I use DoTimer as well, but I use MSBT to show my buff gains and fades, so I'm not really sure how it works in DoT. I'll play around today and tomorrow and see if I can get anything to come up.

ok, disregarding addon's etc etc, I read (and I'm tired so I didn't read well) but if all you want lifetap for is the glyph buff, then why don't you just use lifetap rank 1? (I know I know.. you don't get the mana but if you don't need mana then it's a "free" SP buff (I open a fight with rank 1 for the buff, use the main rank for when mana is needed)

well, if you find that you often need to get the LT buff without needing the mana then you need to look at that glyph's worth to you.
rank1 LT on the pull goes without saying but after that you should always need the mana.
the only exception to that 'rule' is 0/13/58. it doesn't need the mana therefor doesn't take the glyph.
