Focus Frame?

Is using the Focus frame really helpful? I've never used it before because it's apparently only available to the Blizzard UI (so XPerl is unable to show it)
What can I do to get around the "action only available to the Blizzard UI" ?

Eh?
So if you type in
/focus
nothing happens? I wasn't aware that the focus frame didn't come up on some systems...
Its primary use is to direct spells in complex situations...for example, a raid healer may set his focus as the main tank, and use this in his heal macros:
/cast <Healing spell>
(So it will heal a friendly target if he has one, then the focus, if he's set one and it's friendly (the main tank, like I said, is a common focus), a friendly mouseover target, or himself, in that order

No, if I target myself or someone else, and click "Set Focus", it'll do this:

And yes, typing /focus does nothing. Not even a message in the chat box.

Do you have the Focus module of XPerl enabled? No addon can currently set focus by frame right-click. That's a blizzard bug. XPerl's focus features do, however, work just fine.

I'm pretty sure it's enabled...
What do I have to do to make it show?

target what you want to be your focus and type /focus

Ahh, there we go. Thanks!

You can also type "/focus Charactername" and that will set that character to your focus if you don't currently have that player targeted.

One more thing!
How to hide the focus frame after setting a focus target? Only way I know to do that right now is disabling Focus xP

Wanderingfox
/clearfocus
or /focus with no target
