So, while surfing the Wowhead Lore & RP forums, I stumbled across someone who had entered the Global Creative Writing contest hosted by Blizzard back in May and then posted the entry on here for feed back! I thought to myself...
WHAT A GREAT FREAKIN IDEA!
So here was mine. Light's Intervention. A story about two humans who, while seeking entirely differnt goals in life, find out they have a lot more in common than they think.
All the Characters in this fan fiction are based on actual toons on my server who I have either played with in the past or still do. One of them is even my old toon! See if you can guess which one it is!
For those of you who partake in the
Travels of Northrend Forum RP
on here, you might recognise one or two of these names.
No I didn't win... not even a honorable mention... but meh. Won't stop me from finishing it.
The following is the EXACT entry that was submitted. If it seems like it was left open at the end, you're right. There are 5 other chapters so far and I plan on writing much MUCH more.
Light's Intervention

Light's Intervention
- Google Docs
EDIT: Added a link to Chapter 1 from Google Docs. Little safer, from the looks of it.

I liked the story, the only complaint I have with it is the naming of the armor sets the characters wear.
For me it takes away from the feel of the story and puts me into thinking of the characters in a WoW sense. Instead of naming the armor, try to describe it as accurately as possible so that the readers know what you're talking about without bringing WoW into their minds. Or, you could give a link to a picture of what the characters look like, so that it's easier for the readers to invision them while reading. That way you don't have to explain a lot of what the armor looks like, and maybe only go into detail on what the armor is made of, how it sits on the frame of the wearer, things like that.
But back to the overall story, I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to reading more.

The rules for the contest stated that we could not publish the stories once submitted. Posting them, however is not mentioned in the rule, to my knowledge. Worst case Scenario is that Blizzard throws a fit and we have to delete the post...

Wonderful point. My main focus in this novel is to emerse the reader in Azeroth as much as I can, while assuming that they've never even heard of Blizzard. Thank you so much. I'll get to rewriting that later today!
