Do you think we will KILL Arthas or defeat him?

There are about a zillion ways this can play out in Blizzard's hands, I know. But this is just a request for your opinions on Arthas as the big bad guy of the current expansion.
Do you think Arthas should be killed when all of the forces raid Icecrown Citadel? Or should he be weakened, stripped of power somehow, and defeated?
If he is defeated, does he return to some sort of goodness in a la Anakin Skywalker? Does he want to be put out of his misery but someone like Sylvanas refuses to? Varian would have no problem with ending his pain, of course.
Here's a side question: Which NPCs should be included in the raid?
Sylvanas Windrunner? Tirion Fordring? Darion Mograine? Varian Wrynn? Saurfang the Elder? Jaina Proudmoore? Any others?

Why wouldnt Blizzard kill him? They killed Illdian, Lady Vashj, Kel'Thuzad, Kael'thas twice, Archimonde. He'll die, thought he won't be redeemed, there is nothing to redeem; his heart is gone, he's slain his human side, and he "killed" the Ner'zhul side of himself, there is only the Lich King, its just the body of Arthas Menethil now.

would seem to say there is no Arthas, only Zuul.

In the end of Rise of the Lich King, the Lich King form "kills" Ner'zhul and absorbs what left him into the whole; there is no shaman turned warlock, there is no prince turned death knight, there is only the Lich King.

As far as who'll play a a major role in his death... seems like there's a whole roster ready to take a swing.
As far as lore goes, Muradin, Sylvanas, Tirion and Darion would be the most likely candidates. With the events at Angrathar, Wrynn and Saurfang I'm sure would love a shot at him, but I don't think that will happen. Saurfang, being the embodiment of awesome that he is, thinks the fight would be too unfair for Arthas, and Wrynn will be too busy trying to kill the Horde forces at Icecrown to take the shot himself. I also think Jaina pities Arthas too much to have a direct hand in his death. She'll probably help with the fight at Icecrown, but wouldn't be likely to deliver a final blow. I see that job falling to either Sylvanas or Tirion Fordring, the latter being the most likely in my mind.

I hope he's stripped of his powers, tortured by Sylvanas, and paraded on his knees through Dalaran. Then force him to endure the pain and stretched agony of every single person he's killed and/or twisted as a Death Knight and the Lich King.
After reading Arthas: RotLK, I only want him to suffer. A lot.

I think it would be touching if Jaina delivered the final blow. Something along the lines of seeing how she once loved him, she feels that it's her duty in some way.

I think The lich king should be on his knees, frostmourne discarded and near death.
Tirion steps up to deliver the final blow he says some random dialogue about purity and disapointment blah blah.
Just as he is poised to take the swing, An arrow flies past his ear and into the skull of the lich king--Bam sylvanas gets the killing blow while tirion gets to do his speechey thing.I like it. Sylvanas may be a character with questionable motive for after the Lich King dies, but no one can question whether she deserves to kill him.
I think the thing I hated most about Arthas taking Quel'thalas was how
caulky
(purposely misspelled) he was about it. He was so smug, I want him to go down.

"Don't look so smug! I know what you're thinking, but The Sunwell was merely a set back. Did you honestly believe I would trust the future to some red, half-bald eredar mongrel? Hahahaha... Oh no, no, no, he was merely an instrument, a stepping stone to a much larger plan! It has all led to this...and this time, you will not interfere!"

My thought is that Arthas will be defeated by us, and then Ner'zhul or Kil'jaeden or somebody (not Kil'Jaeden, really :S) will appear (or in Ner'zhuls case, speak) and rip Arthas apart for his failure at the hands of the heroes.
Then, maybe, if Blizzard wants to screw their game, they could make Frostmourne rend, and the Players could make get a fragment of it. Though they could change it up and make Tirion Fordring come in and somehow cleanse the fragment, allowing the Player to wield it without killing themselves?
Just my thoughts on the matter, though I don't like them very much. The thought of having hundreds of Frostmournes (or fragments of it) around Azeroth doesn't sit well with me.
