Thinking about tailoring

Hey folks!
As the title suggests, tailoring is giving me a head-ache:
Right now, my professions are enchanting and tailoring as it is common for a priest. I am wondering wether I should replace tailoring with jewelcrafting...
The money and ores needed are not in question, it's all fine. But is it efficient?
I mean will jewelcrafting get me back the money I have lost buying mats fast enough? Is jewelcrafting a better money-maker than tailoring? I know it solely depends on the market economy of my server but by rule of thumb?
By the way, if you think that tailoring is a good money-maker, then please tell me how to do it... I don't have many ideas except for making the cd's and selling the stuff on the ah. Maybe in combination with enchanting: Doing cheap stuff and DE it.. So please tell me!
On another perspective: Which prof has better advantages for a raiding priest? Tailoring and the amazing cloak 'chants or the magnificient, special jewelcrafter gems?
Thank you for your advice!

I have tailoring as well and I found that the CDs are big money makers for me as well as bags and the occasional piece of armor but most of what I make is sold as my tailor is also a Pally. I chose it because of some of the chants I can do to my leg armor for healing and the cloak chants.
I dunno, I like it ok. Usually to make some money with it I will scan the AH and make whats not there or hardly there. I guess I'm not that serious with it. If you like it keep it, I sure would if I were you. I can't fathom dropping a skill that's almost maxed unless its a gathering skill.
Good luck.
