I hate it when people have a habit of sewing a bunch of unrelated facts together and trying to draw conclusions based on comparisons. I run into those people all the time.

I'm telling you, this guy has a way of sewing a bunch of unrelated facts together and trying to draw conclusions based on comparisons.Isn't that what Faux News does?

I'm guessing this is irony, but I was addressing MyTie's post point for point.
US training assassin squads to kill non conformists
If one defines liberation theology as non-conformist, then that's precisely what it did and a link I posted by the US army's school of the Americas website claims responsibility for the "death" of liberation theology.
"Reagan's favorites"
He uses the name of the president as a synonym for their administration... Individuals like Jeane Kirkpatrick and groups such as the people that lauded Fernando Matthei as proxy for Reagan's own position.
The one I didn't comment on is whether Pinochet was linked to fundamentalist Christianity: I think he violently suppressed it, if one considers that a link. Likewise with the US support for Indonesia in East Timor, committing genocide against the native Christian population.
As for whether judging other countries by the principles by which we judge others is taking things too far: I don't think so when it comes to the internationally recognised war crime of aggression.
Why should I not correct them?
Judge not lest ye be judged, perhaps.
Those really have nothing to do with the killing of Bin Laden
Whether or not Bush was wrong with his doctrine (which was really a reiteration of the Clinton doctrine) that the US has jurisdiction over anywhere in the world and that the principle of due process can be voided in that jurisdiction if it suits US interests has *everything* to do with the killing of Bin Laden and the passing of the NDAA. I'm opposed to the death penalty, but I recognise that Bin Laden may have been executed under Nuremburg conditions. Shooting him while he was unarmed in his home was not justice according to international law, it was retribution.

Judge not lest ye be judged, perhaps.
The verse most commonly used out of context. By the measure that you judge you will also be judged. Don't throw your pearls to swine. Remove the plank from your eye before removing the speck from another's eye. It doesn't say not to remove the speck. It doesn't say throw your pearls to anyone because you can't judge what is swine and what is not. It doesn't say not to use any measure of judgement. It says to use a proper measure of judgement, and conform to that measure as best as possible.

A couple of things they forgot to mention/lied about:
1. This had nothing to do with the White House/Obama, as much as they'd like it to. The suit was filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (Responsible for enforcing federal anti-discrimination laws) on behalf of Cheryl PerichAs far as I know, the suit was filed by the justice department (the EEOC may be a part of that, not sure), and that is part of the Obama Administration. It doesn't say that Obama went and argued the case himself or something. If you look at this honestly, a truly conservative Administration would not have been as likely to have handled this case, as a liberal one, such as Obama.2. She was fired for taking time off work after being diagnosed with narcolepsy, which is legally a disabilityWhat does this have to do with the Supreme Court ruling? Should it "not have counted" because one of the lawyers on the case falls asleep a lot? And if so, why should that be a part of this article that is clearly about the way that the case was ruled on?You can find the full court findings
here
. I don't know what saddens me more, that these guys exist or that people will buy their blatant misinformation without a second thought...
FBI
Obama
raids Alorton Village Hall and Mayor McCallum's home
.
Officers with the Federal Bureau of Investigation
The White House
executed a search warrant just before noon on Thursday at the Alorton Village Hall and at the mayor's home.
Officials with the FBI
Evil ObamaCare proponents
confirm their agents; along with Illinois State Police officers executed a search warrant at the Alorton Village Hall and at Mayor Randy McCallum's home in Alorton, Illinois.Do you know that the FBI is part of the executive branch? You are aware of that, correct?
I'm not going to argue with you anymore about Fox. They aren't the best news source, I admit. Then again, no one news source is "the best". Every article they write is not going to be as through enough, or as specific enough, as you want them to be. Sure they are biased, just like every other news outlet. Take the article, and point out more information on it, or find more articles, or discuss the information on it. Railing against Fox news isn't going to do much. I hear it every time I link something from Fox, and you or one of the other liberals on this board makes the same "Faux News" jokes, and points out the same stuff. I've got to give you credit, though. At least your arguments weren't limited to "Faux News" jokes.
The bottom line: I don't care if Obama or whoever filed suit. The Supreme Court ruled UNANIMOUSLY that religious organizations can determine, cart blanch, their own employees, without oversight from the government. That is controversial enough without crying about Fox.

Apparently people are being really really
racist toward Michelle Obama
. Who and where are these people? It seems if anyone taken seriously said anything racist, they would be lampooned by the press. I haven't seen any of that lately, so where is this coming from?

Butt slasher caught.
Now I'm going to admit I laughed so hard, at the expense of the 13 women injured. What kind of person slices the buttocks of females?

So
a model walks into an airplane propeller
. I think it is sad. Yeah, she wasn't thinking, but I've done some bonehead stuff myself. I think it would require quite a bit of... well... a lack of awareness to walk into a propeller, but anyway. The thing that gets me is when her mom attributes it to God, as if God intended for it to happen, and in a good way, or something. Very strange.

Holy effing crap. A
school incorporates technology
to its fullest extent, and guess what, student fail rates slashed in half. Who knew that kids learn more on a computer and on a smart phone than they do watching Ms.Davis scrawl gibberish on a white board? Who knew that kids work at their own pace?
Man I wish I had gone to this school. Public education gets it right, for once.

Universities have been putting videos and recordings of lectures online for viewing for a very long time. 'Homework' gets done in tutorials. It's worth noting that the guys who don't attend lectures and view them online instead typically get lower results - the lack of motivation to physically go to a lecture is often highly correlated to a lack of motivation to view the online lectures.
I'd like to see how much of the impact is a honeymoon effect, and how much is actually a long-term result of the change.

Well stated points. I also would like to see the long term data.
