by runner I mean somone who "runs" you though instances.
Seeing how we can wear the best armor, have self heals, moves like sacred shield that make lower level mobs barely ever hit, and aoe abilities...would you say we are the "running class"?
I mainly ask because someone recently asked me why I rolled a pally and I answered, "Because I like to run people"

Any tanking class is very good at that. Paladins and DKs probably have it easiest.

Sacred shield esp. when talented for 60 sec duration is simply amazing to run lower level instances.
Havent tried any WLK yet, 70 tbc normals like Steamvault are a joke.

Obvious point is obvious?
Grats, by the way, to all the people you're running through low level areas so they don't have to do it themselves. Helps them keep from pesky things like learning to play their class, or actually play the game themselves. Especially because low level instances really are the hardest ones to do -- I hate doing Deadmines, because all the mobs are elite and hit like trucks, and without a decent group, it's really tough. But hey, you're part of the solution! I /salute you.
...sorry, I'm being overly trollish today. >_> Maybe I'm just bitter because I have no friends who run me through instances.

Hehe paladins have it CRAZY easy. Pop some SoL, have essence of gossamer equipped and throw off your sacred shield...
It's stupid easy, I did a half pull in RFC once and only took 5k damage, never turned towards the mobs until I stopped, and 4k of the damage I took was due to a fall to speed up my pulling.
(BTW I did a half pull because the second half has stuns)
Essence of Gossamer + Sacred Shield = stupid easy

Why not go with the logic of "Lets not soulstone our healer because he won't play his best if he knows he can be rezzed if he screws up".
Having somone run you a few times is not going to make you completely unable to play your class. I look at running people as a way to gap over really annoying levels or to help a friend get a certain item on a alt without having another player get it all the time.

Yes, protection paladins are the best instance runners. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know the facts. I say this for a couple reasons:
1.
Blessing of Sanctuary
. You have like 100+ mobs following you. Since you are prot, you will most likely have all your tanking gear on so just stop for a second while facing the mobs and you will refill your whole mana bar in just a couple seconds after dodging/parrying so many attacks at the same time.
2.
Sacred Shield
. Although it only absorbs a limited amount per shield, it still helps cut down on A LOT of incoming damage, and it can help you get some power crit heals in with
Flash of Light
.
3. Powerful heals. There's that one talent in prot that increases healing by a % of stamina I think (Edit: Found it:
Touched by the Light
). With this talent you can throw a
Holy Light
or two on yourself and your back at full HP. Even though
Holy Light
is extremely mana inefficient as prot, you should not be having any mana problems at all. (see #1).

^ Yeah great you basically regurgitated what people already said so far.
Funfact:
Paladins can grind non-stunning melee mobs non-stop, even with a broken weapon. When I mean non-stop, I mean you never go OOC, and are being meleed constantly.
Morefunfact:
With 10 of those mobs on you and
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27529
, with HS up, the same level (74~) DK attacking you with all her heart behind you will die to consecration.

Out of the two 80's and the really stupid amount of characters 50-60 I have, I've never once had an instance ran for any of them. Simply put: you can get EXP much faster by just heading out and doing quests, and any "certain item" you may get in an instance will be out-leveled very quickly, making any time spent trying to get it time wasted.
What I'd said had been mostly-joke mostly-troll for funsies, and I was certain everyone would get that (especially the last bit -- please, me? Need friends? GTFO).
As to the OP's original "question," I don't have anything to add that hasn't been said.
