For some reason I find the Dungeons and Dragons handbooks to be decent reads.
Is this a problem?
Nope, I like the Warcraft RPG books to read in addition to the expanded universe stuff.
I thought those had some significant lore and such..?

They do, but they are still out of date for some lore now a days.

For those interested in music, Laihendi recommends The Infinite Variety of Music, by Leonard Bernstein. It covers pretty much everything from jazz, to popular music, to "classical".

For all those fans of Brandon Sanderson, he has a new book coming out titled,
The Way of Kings
. It's going to be the first book in a series called,
The Stormlight Archive
. If you're interested, you can read the first three chapters
here
. I'm going to pre-order it. The little bit I read, I loved. Like all of Sanderson's works, it's got its own special type of magic system. I highly recommend you check it out if you haven't already.

Woo, stickied!
So, yeah, the Dresden RPG books are quite good, and the notes in the margins are hilarious.

I know, my coworker read it (first chapters) and said it was amazing. I can't wait =D
I love books with notes in the margin like Larklight Series.
Sounds kinda like the Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. They constantly stick footnotes in. Most are really interesting.

I am anxious for more, having read the previous preview, but I just really don't like audio books... spoils the experience for me. Kinda like seeing a movie before reading the book, but not quite as bad. I like to make my own pronunciations of names and add my own voices (in my head, of course). I can't bring myself to force a listen of it, even if it is new preview material.
This, exactly.

Just got the Space Wolf omnibus #2, the first book is dealing with Ragnar sent to Terra as a Wolfblade. Makes for some interesting reading.

Odds are these have been mentioned already, but 2001: A Space Odyssey is a good read. Isaac Asimov's work is very enjoyable for hte science fiction lover as well.
