Of course we don't know who long those globes have been spinning in Ulduar and HoL, for all we know that's old footage from right after the Sundering. Because if you notice they have Teldrassil but not the Draenei Islands, so unless both Azuremyst and Bloodmyst (which are on the other side of a thick contient between them and the Maelstorm) are gone as well........... I'm still waiting on offical Blizz info. Also, if you notice, you can't see Theramore Island on there either......

Well Theramore makes sense seeing as the Water is coming out of the Maelstorm (i'm guessing) but would a wave really have enough force to continue around the entire continent to swamp those smaller islands? Yet for all the Force, somehow Aszhara stays completely unaffected? But on Alliance side only Wetlands is struck by this natural disaster? I like the idea of a natural disaster shaking things up, but atleast think of some logic, even to a magically powered disaster.
(more then likely I spelled disaster wrong all the times, if so, sorry.))

I saw a in-game represtion of what Kalimdor looks like after this disaster, and I have to say..... it's bullcrap: Darkshore and Ashenvale gone, Theramore gone, only a crystal grave marker for the Exodar, most of the coast of Tanaris under water, most of Durotar under water, Ratchet is still there somehow, the Needles full of water, Feathermoon gone but the Horde village in Desolace still there.....
Also, one big question here, if this flood storm wave whatever is suppose to wash across The Barrens and fill in the Needles, why doesn't it do the same to Mulgore? I mean the new Tauren homeland is just one massive valley, you'd think the water would split, some of the flood going south, some of it going into the valley.
Seriously, if something like this is suppose to hit Azeroth, nothing would survive it. This is an Apocalypse level event after all.

And you all know I hate to double post, so I am sorry for this, but I saw it and it needs to be addressed, because it goes with the whole Cataclysm idea.
However, it is unlikely for an Eternal to be completely destroyed, they may regenerate or continue on in non-corporeal form. After the sundering of the world, the Eternal satyr Lord Xavius sought to build his dark army without attracting Elune's attention. Night elves still fear that he may yet be waiting to take his final revenge upon the Kaldorei. The satyrs of Kalimdor's perverted forests worship Lord Xavius. He sows discord and mistrust, and his satyr children take their trickster natures from his guidance. It is uncertain whether the satyrs still found in Ashenvale Forest and elsewhere are still directly following the will of the Satyr Lord, or merely following his path. Satyr tricksters, in particular, revere and mimic Lord Xavius' manipulations of his enemies. Most satyr know he fell during the War of the Ancients, but continue to honor Xavius as their creator. There still remain those of nearly every race hungry for power at any cost who worship Xavius quietly but fervently, hoping that one day he will step out of the shadows to make them one of his minions.
Got that off of the Xavius page from wowwiki, something a lot of people hadn't considered; when Aszhara comes up, she's going to have a ready made army waiting for her, as it wouldn't be unexpected for the spawn of Xavius to rejoin their Queen, espically if the Satyr Lord himself makes a return.

Actually, I meant the Satyr's joining in on the Naga side, not fighting against them, there descendants of the same group after all, both Highbornes.
Except if it's just southern Barren's that gets flooded, how did parts of Durotan get washed away, and only Theramore is destroyed? As for the earthquake thing..... I don't know, any quake that powerful, would be like the flood, apocalyptic event, which would more then likely break Kalimdor in half.
And I don't think that Mulgore is is higher then the Barrens, after all at the Camp place right outside, you go down the hill to enter it. I'm not saying anything would happen to Thunderbluff, I'm just saying, all the lower stuff, that town in the middle, the venture company stuff, would be destroyed as the water flows down into the Vale.

I think that the flood got into the needles through the shimmering flats and that's all. Barrens wasn't mentioned to be flooded.
Somehow that is even worse then it going through the Barrens, just because of the fact it would have to go over the mountains that ring that edge of Kalimdor. See, that is the problem with 3rd hand information, can't even make an accurate idea of what is causing all this.
And the multiple quake thing would be the same, if the quakes kept going through the same fault line, would keep forcing it open farther and farther, literally ripping the place apart, and leaving the Barren's even more desolate instead of this "rebirth" to the land they were talking about.

Delterius, you should really read that thread from MMO-Champion I posted above, about the globe-comparison, a lot of maps that replicates what's on the globes, as overlays on a compiled map made from the minimap of the actual in-game world (
see the pictures here
for instance, probably the best example).
It's quite interesting, to say the least. And it actually looks plausible.

Is it just me or the Thousand Needles aren't flooded at all, but the Barrens are?
Correct - it isn't. It doesn't exactly look like a flood either, but more like Kalimdor was torn in two right on the middle. It's rather convenient that it matches with cities, Wailing Caverns, and the like.
With the rumors of Azshara being a 10-20 zone, it could actually fit pretty nicely, seeing as the Barrens are rather "reduced in size".

I don't know, I'd rather see Aszhara get the revamp into an 80 zone that leads out to Nazjatar. Would make more sense then setting it up as a whole new 10-20 zone..... mainly because you walk through Ashenvale which is a level 20-30 zone to reach it.

reading the Arthas: Rise of the Lich King novel, i discovered something, that might have been a hint on the Cataclysm
in the Novel, Arthas as the Lich King has a vision showing how Nazjatar would rise from the Maelstrom
i am speculating if the Cataclysm is actually caused by Azshara summoning Neptulon into Azeroth, very much like it happened with Ragnaros being summoned by the Dark iron dwarves
Azshara apparently serves the old gods, and this for more than 10.000 years now
Maybe they tasked her to summon Neptulon, and finally in the next expansion she does it and this causes the Maelstrom to swirl very dangerously , resulting in flooding much of azeroths landmasses thus the Cataclysm
Maybe after the cataclysm the maelstrom will be gone through this
Yup, was almost mention at the end of "The Sundering" final part of War of the Ancients, she's offered a chance to live. Either the Old God's or Neptulon offering her safety, as there have been rumours the Tidehunter is already on Azeroth and has been here for quite a few years.
And yes, as Del and Gnub have been showing with those linked pictures, the Maelstorm appears to have vanished, and more then likely that is because of Nazjatar rising upwards.

Neptulon already kicked the Gurubashi trolls' asses... :P

This got me thinking. Is it possible with all the disasters, that the
Darkspear Islands
could rise from the deep?
