Is there anything particularly wrong with giving a Hunter Alchemy?

Just figured I would ask. I know the whole "any class can use any profession" theory, and in general I'm all for it. However, alchemy is the only profession I've actually never played and I figure I should at least give it a shot. The idea of crafting things I'm just going to use and then have to craft all over again has always bugged me for some reason. Anyway, just wondering if there is any real reason not to give alchemy to a hunter.
I already have a leatherworking druid so the hunters armor is pretty much supplied. Yea, no dragonscale, but considering you can basically throw away your dragonscale within 2-3 hours of being in outlands it's not like the hunter is missing much.
