(( The ending page to Chapter 2 ))
- The kraken was a massive creature, covered in red-green scales with more brownish-colored scales on its underside. Massive suction cups - large enough to suck a man's face right off - dotted the massive tentacled arms, and two massive eyes regarded them, while the bird-like beak clacked hungrily. Slowly, the tentacles wrapped themselves around the ironclad ship, smashing several crew members while others ran for their lives.
- "Don't just stand there!" Sprixx frantically yelled, "attack it!"
- The Blackwater Raider crew grabbed whatever they could get their hands on - hammers, axes, scrap-metal - and began to beat at the kraken's many arms. But the beast's grip only tightened.
- Jason and his allies also attacked the beast, but their efforts also proved futile.
Nothing is working
, Jason though as he continued to slice into the krakens scaly flesh with his sword.
Light, show me what I must do
.
- The kraken lifted its bulky body then smashed itself onto the ship, trying to break it in two like it had so many others before. But the ironclad vessel resisted the blow, and the sea monster was left dazed, its beak clacking reflexively on the deck.
- Jason looked on, then nodded. He understood.
- "Sir Nilon," he said to the Blood Elf, "give my regards to Lord Holyhammer."
- Without waited for a reply, Jason rushed towards the kraken's beak. Stopping short he timed its opening and closing and then jumped through into the beast's mouth.
- The inside of the kraken's mouth was slimy, steamy and - of course - smelled like fish. Jason found it hard to breathe at first, but then focused and set to his task. His sword easily cut through the kraken's insides. Warm blood poured over him from the open wounds. He squirmed down the beast's gullet, continuing to cut away at the creature as he did, in order to further wound it.
- In his mind, he wondered how the kraken was reacting to his handiwork.
- Had he been able to talk with them, his allies outside would have been able to answer his thought. Everyone on the
Bobbing Blossom
- Nilon particularly - watched in awe as the Kraken reared up off of the ship, screeching in pain, and fell back into the ocean.
- There was a moment of silence, then Scalebender spoke up. "What just happened?"
- "Jason," Nilon said, "he sacrificed himself to save us."
- "Nobel," Thrrag commented, "I shall have to write a lok'vadnod for him, if I find the time."
- "What still baffles me," Sprixx started, "is how they knew your Naga friend would be here."
- A crash came from the other side of the ship, and everyone on it turned to see a human male trying to lower a lifeboat into the water. Nilon recognized him instantly.
- "Igneous Josephson," he said.
- "Igneous!" Sprixx exclaimed, "that Bloodsail scum's on my ship! Clap him in irons, boys!"
- Several crew members rushed up to restrain Igneous, and after several moments they finally struggled him down.
- "Why?" asked Nilon, "you were so helpful to us back at Theremore, what did you have to gain?"
- "I've had dealings with the Naga for some time," Igneous started. "I was banned from the Buccaneers for consorting with them. The Alliance was too stupid to recognize my affiliation with them and I managed to get a job as a privateer. But I'm Bloodsail to the core! Forever!
- "Your friend's disguise was a cheap one, and I knew the Naga he worked for. It was a perfect plan to get rid of Sprixx, and I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling scallywags!"
- "Take him to the brig!" Sprixx ordered, then paused. "Speaking of the Naga," he said after a moment, "I'm going to have to set up some kind of fee, or something, for his use of my ship."
- "I fully agree," Nilon nodded. "But, first, let's discuss the topic of 'slavery.'"
- Srpixx groaned.
...
- Captain Freddrick Bloodbone of the Forsaken frigate
Scourge-Bane
held his spyglass up to his eye. Although they had rotted out years ago, the necromantic powers that had returned him to life also gave him sight. Through the glass he saw another ship - clearly of undead make - off their port side. The only problem was that it displayed no colors.
- "Helmsman, port-tack and move us along side that ship," he ordered.
- "Aye, aye, Captain," came the reply and the ship began to turn.
- As they neared the ship, Freddrick saw that there was only one creature on the ship's deck: a robed and hooded humanoid.
- "This is Captain Freddrick Bloodbone of the Forsaken frigate
Scourge-Bane
. Name your affiliation and business in the Banshee Queen's territory immediately!"
- Slowly the figure moved his hands up to his hood and pulled it back, letting the ice-blue glow of his eyes shine visibly.
- "
Death Knight
!" Freddrick swore, "its a Scouge ship! Ready the cannons and open-."
- "Fire!" Morec shouted.
- Within moments, the Forsaken ship was no more.

I get the reference. Scooby Doo FTW! :)
Killing off Jason was....unexpected.

Writer's Commentary:
-Jason, Jason, JASON! That's all I hear about now! What is this? A Friday the 13th sequal?
- Honestly, had I known that Jason was this popular, I would have kept him alive, but I had already written this page (I'm always a few pages ahead of the current one) when Dralas spoke up about him being his favorite character.
- But, now that he's dead, I think I'll go into a bit more description of the character's design and original pourpose.
- It is true, I did base his name off of Jason Vorheese(probably misspelled) from the famous Friday the 13th movies, and I had actually intended for him to have an axe instead of a sword. But it occured to me that an axe wasn't very 'Alliancey' so I changed it, but I kept the name.
- He was actually - just like the other two original good-side characters, Nilon and Celen - supposed to have a larger role in the story. But as I wrote this it became clear to me that - besides the occasional
witty comment about polymorph
- I was doing a very, very poor job of incorperating him into the storyline at all. So, I decided to kill him off.
- All that considered, imagine my surprise when Dralas came out of the woodwork and said he was a fan of the character. But it was too late, the guy was a gonner (just like a certain Killer Whale in a
certain newspaper comic strip
, for those of you who get the refference)
- But, if he's anything like the guy I based him off, he'll be back. But I'm not making any promises.
EDIT: And yes, Girlcaster, Valinaria
will
finally make her debut(probably spelled this wrong too).
EDIT2: The Frost Spec'd Death Knight known as Garen was originally supposed to be named Thomas, but after I created the charcter of Jason Thomas I decided that it was too confusing (to me anyway) so the Death Knight's name was changed to Thomas.

Was Kraken merely a setback then?
Yes, the Kraken was merely a setback, a stepping stone to a much larger plot line. And this time, the dead weight that was Jason Thomas wil not interfere.

Pirates of the Caribbean anyone?
Good stuff, but who will replace Jason? And what will happen with the Character Suggestions? Which have made it, which will not?
So many questions.
