How does
Mace Specialization
factor into this? How about
Battle Stance
? I was wondering how much Armor Pen value you would need as an Arm warrior with Grim Toll or that other trinket.

the "tipping point" seems to still be around 30-35% from gear alone (don't count battle stance or trinkets). however, i highly recommend downloading landsoul's spreadsheet from EJ and run the numbers for your toon.
i suppose mace specialization would lower that somewhat, but axe spec is still quite a bit better and with the
ToC axe
being so easy to get, and better than the other 219's available...
once you pass 50% and your trinket procs, you will be wasting some of the proc; however, that does not necessarily mean > 50% is bad since the entire time the trinket is NOT proc'd, you will still be using that extra armorpen.
also, keep in mind that the increase in dps by regemming is not mind-blowing, especially if you're close to that 35% mark. i'm at ~58% from gear and i still have quite a few strength gems. new gear usually gets armorpen, but it's not worth it for me to go back and regem all the old stuff.

Edit: Thirty percent passive ArP is best if you have a warrior tank or dont mind sundering yourself. (20% ArP) this leaves itemization and gemming to go back to Str. which is still important.
sunders reduces the armor by 20%, it dosnt make you ignore it.
say that the boss has 10000 armor and you sunder it, the boss will then have 10000*0,8= 8000 armor.
And if you have 30% ArP passive and 50% ArP from trinket the boss will have 8000*0,2 = 1600 armor against you.
you still need the full 100% ArP, but sunders will still increase your dps untill your capped.

In my arms gear i dont have a single point of arp besides whats already on items, none of those trinks, i go for strength (and crit, hit/exp caps) and yet my damage is equal, maybe 100dps less on average than similar geared with grim toll who stacks arp. Way overrated imho. (Thats some extensive testing, :/ )

i have run some tests on lv80 dummy , i did more damage with armor has arp ratings than with armor with attack power. i took banner of victory and mioro of truth off during tests.
tests favor arp over str.
Dps gains/losses on target dummies do not equate to dps gains/losses on actual raid bosses. You have so many more raid buffs/debuffs. Also, the armor on a level 80 dummy is different than the 83 dummy, so use the 83 dummy. You would be much better served using something like the EJ spreadsheet or Rawr to determine SEP values for ArP to see if it is better for your current gearset or not.
