So, who here today was given their GCSE results? :)
I was one of them, and I'm pretty pleased with the results personally.
A* - R.E
A - English Literature and Applied Biology
B - Maths, History, Drama, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, English Language, Spanish.
Feel free to discuss your results, or just talk about GCSEs in general. :)
And.....GO!

I finished SATs when I was 10. o_O
SATs are easy mode though.
GCSEs do need a bit of revision if you aren't confident about it, but you should refresh it by reading through your books before the exams, just so it's fresh in your mind. However, the teachers were using scare tactics like "OMG YOU NEED TO REVISE ABOUT 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE EXAMS OR YOU'LL CRAM AND FORGET IT ALL!" But I didn't follow the advice (entirely ;D) and I think I did quite well.
So TL;DR is basically that yeh, they are a step up from SATs, and you should revise for them, but not for like, 10 hours a night or anything like that. ;)

I got my AS level results back, ABCC (Maths, Physics, Chem, Computing respectivly). and @Loosa, I agree completely and am in the process of writing a summary of my complains about education and employment.
Also, i disagree with you patty, so long as you can get nothing lower than a C and mostly A*/A/Bs without revising then you don't need to 'cos once you get A-Levels (Which you WILL need to revise for, true story) no1 cares.

Yes, but revising is still helpful.
The only grade you're guaranteed to get in an exam before results day is a U.
Tauman, just pick subjects you enjoy for your options. The compulsary subjects well...you just have to bite the bullet.

Not since they shoved bull!@#$ coursework into even maths :'[ at GCSE (not at A-Level! wooo!). While most subjects should have coursework maths absolutly should not. Exams are the single best way to test maths skills.
I frequently complain to those around me about my discontents regarding the education system.

I never did Maths coursework. Same as my sciences, they were all exam-based.

I did the Year 2 SAT's a year early, and did pretty good on them. Too bad I don't remember them... =/
