They are different classes. You have played them both plenty, there is not much we can tell you that would help.
Play the one you enjoy, or hell, play them both.

I would say Prot Pally has a lot more survivability than the warriors, simply because of heals. Once a warrior is out, they're out.
Read the protribution thread for how to build a DPS Prot build.

My prot spec does way better than my Ret spec in PvP. The survivability + stuns are great, and the burst is amazing.

I have to agree prot pallies in pvp are great. I have been doing alot of wg this last week as a pve specced prot pally in pve gear (30k hp 25 dodge/20 parry and 20%block) and fighting melee class is a joke most can never even land a hit on me. Casters are much harder but even then with my massive hp buffer i can take down casters in 1vs1.

Paladin > Warrior I'd say.
Both are great melee dps and great tanks. Both classes have their advantages and disadvantages and with the current patch Paladins might even be a little bit stronger but that's only temporary anyway and shouldn't be the reason to chose the class.
The reason for me to dislike Warriors is rage. Being rage starved in a fight is annoying and the worst thing about it is that you will have less rage the better gear you get (since you don't get hit hard anymore).
Paladins with mana are just so much more fun to play (for me).
That and as a Paladin you always have the option to be a healer. Warriors just can't do that.

Well, if you enjoy using a 2-hander then
this
should be fine. As far as gear goes, aim for Strength pretty much. You won't need to worry about hit or expertise just yet so you're fine. If you want to spend money to get gear, then I guess go for some "of the bear," "of the beast," or quest
gear
. Or stuff with strength and crit on it pretty much. Later on in Northrend stuff like
sweet quest gear
will show up occasionally. Use Seal of Command for the most part and spam judgements so you can keep your blue rage bar-a-goin', :D.
Edit: If you want to go for warrior, Idunno about spec but go for pretty much the same gear I think if you go arms or fury. For Prot "of the champion" stuff will suit you fine for both a prot pally and warrior.

80
Ret Paladin. (Generic Ret PvE spec).
80
Arms Warrior. (Generic Arms PvE spec I think).
80
Fury Warrior. (Generic Fury PvE spec as far as I know). EDIT: You can switch out the point in Piercing Howl if you don't want that.
I'm not too PvP oriented so I'm not sure what PvP specs to give, sorry. =/ These specs would generally work well with leveling though methinks.
