Misdirect macro (in party vs solo)

Hey.
I was wondering if someone could help me out with a macro I'm trying to work on. When I'm soloing, I made a macro for misdirecting to my pet, which pretty much looks like this
/#showtooltip
/cast Misdirect
/cast Misdirect
Forgive me if I wrote the above language incorrectly, since I'm not at the WoW computer right now. That's pretty much from memory, so it might be a little off. But, I think the gist of it is clear. I right click, it casts Misdirect on the pet, clicking as normal casts it as normal.
What I'd like to do for groups, though, is cast Misdirect on the tank. The tank is usually my focus, so a simple command to target the focus would be fine. I remember reading, though, something about being able to have abilites work in specific situations, like in a party.
What I'm wondering is if it is possible to have the macro behave as normal when soloing, but when in a party, have it cast on the focus. I'm trying to do this without using alt or shift or other modifiers, because I know full well I may forget, and then all of a sudden my pet's dead.
I'm not sure if I have to do something with , or , or anything like that. I'm a bit out of my element here, and would appreciate any help I could get.
Thanks.

Try this
#showtooltip
/cast ; Misdirection
I can never soom to get the conditional right, but you can certainly try it out.
Just focus the tank, and it will cast MD on it if you're in a group and on your pet if you're not, without using a modifier or 2 buttons.

I think you'll want to swap out the grouped conditional? So,
#showtooltip
/cast ; Misdirection
I believe the original request was to target the focus while in a group, otherwise target the pet.
Edit: I did some searching on conditionals and I think the syntax should actually be:
#showtooltip
/cast Misdirection

And this is still not what he asked for as far as i understand, what he wants is a button one= Misdirect, button 2 = pet/focus thereby allowing him to Misdirect to any target if wanted!
I missed that somehow. I think it would be:
#showtooltip
/cast Misdirection

The button:2's are implied by the condition at the front, if it manages to get past that, then the button they used to click the macro was not btn:1, and people don't usually use any other button other than right click to click things, so it can be inferred. Same thing with the conditional. The in the clause prior allows us to assume that if we get to clause 3 that they're in a group.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their help with this. This is one of the reasons I enjoy interacting with the Wowhead community. Not once did anyone say something rude about me not understanding macros, or scripting, or anything like that.
As for what I actually ended up using, this is the macro
/#showtooltip
/cast Misdirection
/cast Misdirection
Which does exactly what I was hoping for. Right clicking casts Misdirect on pet when soloing, on the focus when in a group, and left-clicking leaves me free to cast it on whoever. This was important because, as a hunter, getting ready for higher dungeons and heroics, I had to be able to cast misdirect on the healers and cloth/leather wearing DPS.
...look, I don't make the rules, okay? I'm a hunter, and I just have to do that, sometimes. It's the law.
Thanks, again.

/cast Misdirection
should be the same exact thing.
