That's about the long and the short of it. Grind BGs; it'll take a week to get gear, even doing the daily quests. Try to queue up for AV as often as possible; you generally get the most honor from it (at least, that was the case - I haven't done much in the way of the new BGs).

Oh, if you don't need the marks, turn them in for the repeatable quest from the BG daily guy - one of each mark turns in for a quest reward, you can repeat the turn-in as often as you want.

I never realised until pretty much a couple of weeks ago that all the Marks that I was capped out on, and deleting from my mail, could be handed in for bonus honour, 1489 or so for a Mark from each BG (at level 80).

It actually shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks tops to get a full set of Epic PvP gear.

What class are you? You may or may not want a set bought purely with Honour - I know as a Warrior that the best set I could make was actually a combination of the Wintergrasp Mark bought Titan Forged gear, two pieces of Hateful Gladiator gear, some Deadly Gladiator gear, and then Trinkets is down to personal preference.
