how much % hit rating is needed for enhancement pvp?
according to wowwiki, only 4% spell hit rating is required if you're fighting an opponent the same lvl as you.
but, if
Dual Wield Specialization
is filled, than i'll be 2% over the hit cap?
i've already got some hit rating gear that i'll be using for pvp, so this thread is mainly to help me figure out whether i'll be taking that talent

Yes, you take the talent. The more of your autoattacks that land, the faster you will build up maelstrom weapon charges. Dual weild miss chance is near 24%.

It takes 32.79 points of hit rating to gain 1% melee hit
But it only takes 26.23 points of hit rating to get 1% spell hit.
So to get your nesicary spell hit for raids (14% for horde), you need 368 hit rating which in turn gives 11.2% melee hit. So even if you don't take the talent, you'll still be soft-capped.
However even though stacking hit over the soft cap isn't advisable because it only effects out white damge, this talent gives 2% hit per point instead of the usual 1%, making it a bit more useful than it otherwise would. Add that to the fact that three of our abilities can proc on white hits (maelstrom, windfury and flametongue), and you'd need filler points anyways, it's a pretty nice talent.

I wouldn't suggest shooting for 14% hit in pvp, the throughput or defensive stats you have to give up aren't worth the meager return. Pvp soft cap is 105 HR for horde.

Lol, I had started writing that with pvp in mind and then had to leave the computer for a bit. Was in the pve mindset when I got back I guess :P

105 hit rating for the spell hit cap. ty :)

ok.. i know you left your pc while writing this.. but this confused me.
isnt the spell hit cap 17%? and for alliance with a dreanei in group 16? (referring to the general hit cap) i dont get why it would only be 14% for the horde.

14% assuming there is a moonkin or shadow priest in the raid. if not, 17% at 446 HR.
