I was trying to use text2 in grid to display the earth shield count.
I can't get it do display anything Any ideas?
What do you show in your grid settings.
I can only think of riptide and earth shield man its not like my druid.
I have hots in every corner, so I guess I have lots of room :)

thanks spicker
I looked for things like I use with druid and could not find anything.
With druid we have hots and lifebloom timers.....lots of addons. Again I found nothing for shaman.
I guess we are mainly instant heals and not much tracking. I guess the only dot is riptide.
I need to get shockandawe in a better position for water shield and earth shield, never looked but hope it has an earthliving timer.

I have been using
Shields Up
to track ES charges on my UI and it gives a nice audiable alert once your charges expire.
If you're looking for a visible alert on your Raid UI you could always try switching Grid for
VuhDo
. I have switched along with several Guildmates and we're not looking back. VuhDo gives you HoT timer bars for Earthliving and Riptide along with a color-coded symbol indicating how many charges are remaining on ES....very handy.

ZuhDo is an excellant healing UI that I recommend VERY highly. Healbot will also show you shields (with counters) and hot timers for Riptide. Both can be configured to your liking. I have found that ZuhDo took me a bit longer to configure to the format I enjoy, however it was well worth it in all other areas concerned.
For VuhDo, you will want to adjust the hot icon size and location in relation to the healing box. The default setting creates small dots in the corners, similar to grid. You can adjust these to show the actual hot icon on the far left with a small countdown number on the icon (as an example).
EDIT - If you want to see how ZuhDo can look for ES and RT check out this screenshot of my UI. I threw a RT on the tank so you can see what they both look like. Enjoy.

d2thomas good screen shot that is exactly what I wish I could do in grid.
I am working on trying out power auras to do something on screen to let me know when es is close and needs to be refreshed.
I noticed one other thing in your screen shot. top to bottom alpha sort. I have the same thing in Grid and I was like WTF put the tank on top. No drag and drop, no easy way to set it....hate it in all of these programs. Should be able to click on a box and menu _ order _ 1.

What you can do with VuhDo and Healbot is set the preferences to list whoever is marked as MT to be on the top. I am usually sitting the in tank group to provide healing stream and cleansing totems so I know anyone in my group is a tank. My particular preferences are set to list me on the top of the group, otherwise I find myself....well...neglecting myself. There are also options to sort by type (melee, tanks, ranged) or by class. These can also be very helpful. If you find yourself tank healing, VuhDo has options for MT and OT windows seperately from your raid frames, to better monitor them. I was a Healbot guy until I decided to dedicate myself to VuhDo for at least ONE week. After the first night of raiding (and working configurations to my liking) I was sold.
PowerAura's is a good way to set an indicator, however I have not had the time to sit down and figure it out. That program can be daunting with all the settings and variables.
I'm glad you apprieciate my post. Thank you.
