The only reason that you're thinking like that right now is because you're approaching it calmly and rationally.
Try to tell me that you'd be thinking calmly and rationally seeing the individual you loved more than anyone else killed before your very eyes.I could see having rage and hatred at the time, but not 20+ years later.

And this is all ignoring the fact that if Varian killed Garona, Med'an would turn him into snowflakes, Dr. Manhattan-style.

if I saw someone kill my father, I would demand justice, that the murerer paid for his/her crimes with either jail or death.
however, if I later find out that the alledged murderer was in fact framed, I would.........
well I probably would't forgive him/her in the sence of becoming close friends or something liek that, but at the very least I'd stop demanding this person to be killed or imprisoned.
garona ripped Llane's heart in front of varian, however, varian already knows she did this under mind-controll, now, asking of him to become a friend of garona is too much.
but is it really justified that he wants her DEAD?
I mean he knows she's inocent, heck varian has some skeletons in his closet from his days as a mind-controlled puppet, the very least he could do is stop pursuing her and just let her go.
what she has done is horrible, but A: it was not her fault (just as it was not varian's fault of what happened during his time as puppet) and B: she has already paid a rather high price for what happened.
again I'm not saying varian should get all hommie with garona, but he should at least leave her alone, she's been trough enough hell as it is.......

Hindsight is a powerful thing. My opinion is based on personal experience. Although not as...gory as Varian's childhood, I was still influenced. Revenge does not taste sweet at all, and when in-charge, you need to take a look at things rationally before you let your emotions get the better of you.
He was probably educated about all of this, yet he seems adamant on making things worse for everyone around him.
The reason I dislike Varian is because of the way he deals with issues. Even if the person I loved more than anyone else was killed before my eyes, I would of course be angry, upset and distraught. What I would not do is turn that into anger, hatred, and hunger for revenge. Would said person really want me to do that? I doubt it.

How about after having that same individual come back and try to kill you?I could see trying to kill her there, but going after the child of the person who killed your father, just to make her suffer before you deal the final blow.... no, that's insanity, and a point where the revenge has reached an obsession.
Resulting in the full might of the Alliance coming down on the Council of Tirisfal. I also wouldn't be surprised to see the council disbanded because Jaina didn't want to be associated with Med'an anymore. So they would kill the Dwarf, the Gnome, and Draenei? Oh I'm sure that would look well for the rest of the Alliance, might as well just shatter it all at that point.
And to something dark put earlier.... How could they be searching for her for 20+ years, when they only recently learned she was still alive? Before her remergence, most of the world thought she was dead.

Moreso, in my opinion. Varian doesn't have any Mind-control excuse for his murder.

Garona kills Llane under mind control.
Varian kills Garona, entirely sober.
Med'an kills Varian.
And I think Maraad would stand with Med'an.
Jaina, even if she didn't approve of Med'an killing Varian, would certainly not approve of Varian killing Garona.

No, the Dwarf, Gnome, and Draenei would withdraw from the council.
At the very least, it could result in Med'an having his powers revoked.
But you just said the full might of the Alliance comes down on the Council. So which is it? They disband the council or they kill the council? If they kill the Council, they kill their allies, they ruin their standing with the people of Shattrah, as a member of the Scryers is part of the Council. They give the Horde another reason to attack as they would be killing Hamuul and Rehgar.

Med'an kills Varian.
And once again you assume Varian knows she was mind controlled. He would have to be extraordinarily poor at his job as king to not know. It's his job to know. He has people to gather intelligence, but he doesn't even need them. Jaina, his chief advisor, knows.
